Missy Brumbaugh Missy Brumbaugh is the daughter of Sam and Mary Lu Brumbaugh, 23908 CR 38, Goshen. An English, science, and math major, she will celebrate her birthday on March 28. She keeps active in her participation in Pep Club, Mat-Maids, S. A.D.D., Card Club, Student Council, Drama Club, Dawning Generation, and Choralaires. She was also president of her class both her sophomore and junior years. Missy’s hobbies include listening to music, reading, watching T.V.,
MISSY BRUMBAUGH and going out with her boyfriend and friends. After graduation, she plans on attending college to study genetics or veterinary work. She speaks of her most embarrassing moment at North Wood: “When I was a freshman, I walked into the guys’ bathroom because there were no signs to tell them apart. I couldn’t remember which one was men’s or women’s.” Among her pet peeves arc people who pull out in front of her while she’s driving and then drive extremely slow, hair on razors, and people who don’t use doorbells. Missy’s philosophy on life: “When you’re at your lowest point, you can think that things will only get belter.” Laura Cripe December 26, 1971 is the birthdate of Laura Cripe, who resides at 318 Independent St., Wakarusa. Farm Bureau to feature speaker “Fourth Down and a Lifetime to Go” will be the topic of this year’s Elkhart County Farm Bureau spring meeting set for 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 3. The meeting will be held at the Home and Family Arts Building at the 4-H Fairgrounds, Goshen. Leading the county-wide spring meeting will be award-winning national television sports reporter John Gross from WXYZ-TV7 Detroit. He will be presenting a humorous and motivational look at life. Sponsored by the Elkhart County Farm Bureau, the evening meeting will start with a barbecue chicken and ham dinner catered by Port-A-Pit. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Walter Stulzman Quartet. Tickets for the event are $4 per person and can be purchased from any township Farm Bureau officer and at both the Farm Bureau offices in Elkhart and Goshen until March 29. This meeting is open to all Farm Bureau members and friends.

TRACY SMITH an English and German major at North Wood. She lives at 806 W. Market St., Nappanee and celebrates her birthday on Christmas Eve. A four-year member of S. A.D.D., Tracy enjoys being with friends and playing football. She is planning on entering the National Guard with an emphasis on air patrol upon graduating from North Wood. People who gel into other people’s business, or who think that they arc better than anyone else, and Notre Dame arc among Tracy’s pet peeves. “Live life to the fullest and don’t let anyone push you around,” is Tracy’s comment oa life. - Rodney Bontrager < A belated birthday greeting goes to Rodney Alan Bontrager, whose birthday was last Tuesday, March 13. Awards for his achievements include most valuable swimmer, for which he was most recently named, most improved swimmer, and a mental attitude honor for tennis. MICHAEL ENGLE about where he wishes to attend college after graduation, but he has several majors to boast of at NorthWood: Phys. Ed., English, math, business and woods round out the list. He played both football and baseball for North Wood, also. His hobbies include skiing, both water and snow. He is the secretary of the Card Club and a member of the Senior Executive Council. Pet peeves for Michael are his car amfcpeoplc who think that they know everything. “Make the most of it!” he says of his comment on life. Miranda Lutes 352 E. Walnut is where Miranda Lutes, daughter of Dolores Kring and Charles Lutes resides. She celebrates her birthday on September 6th. A government and economics major, Miranda has spent three years on the North Wood’s S.A.D.D. chapter, and has also been named to the honor roll. She was both a swimmer and a diver her senior year for the girls’ swim team. Other activities that she enjoys arc swimming, roller skating, and lac kwon do (karate), of which she is a green belt. Her future plans include attending the John Casablancas Modeling School, from which she will graduate shortly after her graduation from North Wood. Her pet peeves? “All Fords, junk computers at the career center, and people who say, ‘it’s not the computer, it’s the operator’.” The most embarrassing moment that she has had was when she was “driving my ex-boyfriend’s truck and having it stall on 19 and I was almost run over by three buses.” On life, she states, “Do the best you can in life and you will always come out on top.”

Nappanee VFW to host i May 5 Loyalty Day Parade
The Nappanee VFW Post 6638 will host the Third District Loyalty Day Parade, Saturday, May 5, at 2p.m. Information and entry forms are being distributed to VFW Posts throughout the ThircLDistrict, with an April 26 entry deadline. In addition to drill and color guard teams and bands (in two divisions per school enrollment), there will be floats in two divisions and other entries classified as “Variety Entries,” such as antique cars. Entries will be judged, with first, second and third-place trophies awarded. Awards will be presented at the VFW Post, 110 N. Main St., Nappanee, immediately following the parade. The event is open to any organization or individual who wishes to show their loyalty to America. The Ladies Auxiliary to Post 6638 will serve steak dinners from 4-6:30p.m., in the dining room at the Post. Following the dinner, dancing will begin at 7p.m. Third District Commander Marty Spring x series for women The Spring 1990 Scries of Goshen General Hospital’s Women’s Lunch ’N Learn Program will begin Wednesday, April 4. The first topic of the scries will be “The Female Body: An Owner’s Guide to Good Health,” presented by Candy Robinson, RN, ADN, Childbirth Education Coordinator, GGH. Session two, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, will feature Beth Weaver, RN-C, MSN, speaking on “Bioethics and Women’s Health Issues.” Ms. Weaver is a stall nurse at GGH. “Humor & Health: Smiling Your Way to Wholeness,” will be the topic for the final program of the spring series. Kay Stanley, RN, BSN, Community Education Instructor, GGH, will be the speaker for that session, to be presented Wednesday, June 6. Pre-registration is required by March 30. Lunch is included in the S3O registration fee for the full series, or $12.50 for any single session. Asthma ,r -- program The American Lung Association of Northern Indiana announces a Family Asthma Program for children ages 6-14, their parents, and parents of asthmatics of other ages, to begin Tuesday, April 3, 1990 for four (4) consecutive Tuesday evenings through April 24th, from 7-9 pm at the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Bldg., 120 W. Navarre Street, South Bend. The program provides a learning experience for children and parents about the causes of asthma, methods of allergy testing, asthma medications and attitudes and expectations of living with asthma. In addition, respiratory therapists will teach the children breathing management skills, physical conditioning skills, and games designed to understand the respiratory system. Ample opportunity for questions and answers is also provided. A registration fee of $ 10 per family payable the first night will be charged. Scholarships are available.
