Adrienne Miller and Andrea and Nicole Jenkins served as flower girls. The groom was attended by Don McCann as best man, and by Richard Sweetser and Jeff Sweetser,
his brothers, and John Yoder. Ushers were Dave McCann, Jerry Miller and Mike VanKlausen, brothers-in-law. A wedding reception followed the ceremony, at the Elk’s Lodge in Goshen, with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Munn as host and hostess. The bride is a 1979 graduate of North Wood High School. Her husband graduated from Goshen High School in 1982, attended Indiana University, Bloomington, for two years, and graduated from IV Tech, South Bend, in 1986. Following a honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico, they are residing at 716 S. 3rd St., Goshen.
Seniors invited for activities, hot lunches
The following schedule of activities and hot lunches for senior members of the community has been announced by REAL Services, sponsors of the program. The Nappanee site, located at the Church of the Brethren, Mack Drive, is open Monday through Friday, from 10a.m. until 2p.m. Activities at the site include table games and puzzles, a Tuesday Bible study, and other special activities as announced. Please call the site* one day in advance (773-2228) to make reservations for the meals. There is no set charge-each person is asked to pay just what he/shc feels he/shc can afford. MENUS Thursday, January 4-orange juice, turkey manhattan (sliced turkey on white bread with gravy and mashed potatoes), steamed spinach with bacon garnish, oatmeal cookie, milk, tea and coffee. Friday, January 5-apple juice.

Vernon and Lucy Kaufman, Etna Green, announce the engagement of their daughter, Carmen Kaufman, to Glenn Yoder, son of Kenneth and Lydia Mae Yoder, Bremen. Miss Kaufman is a 1986 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, and is self-employed. Her fiance works for Kemp Construction, Nappanee. They are planning a May 19 wedding, at the First Brethren Church, Nappanee.

Max Bigler was the speaker at last Wednesday’s meeting of the Nappanee Rotary Club. Introduced by Michael Bigler, Max presented his view of the problems of old age. Other guests were Michael Clouse, with his father, Jim, and Steve Ball, Fl Wayne, a guest of Merle Holden. Visiting Rotarians were Steve Himes, Goshen, and Dave Shadinger, South Bend. The president, Tom Slater, was also the piano player, in the absence of Dorothy Zimmerman, who is vacationing in Texas. Members are looking forward to the new year, when a club assembly is planned for January 17. Projects for 1990 will be discussed. Nappanee Rotarians meet each Wednesday noon, at the B&B Restaurant. Visitors are always welcome.

Laurie Ann Dicterlen and David A. Cole were united in marriage November 25, at the Nappanee United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Nancy Schoff, a friend of the touple. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Dieterlen, Nappanee, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. -Russell Cole, Anderson. The bride wore a gown of ivory satin with a cathedral train, and carried a bouquet of peach and ivory roses. She was attended by her sister, Susan Dicterlen, as maid of honor, and by Pamela Black and Christi German, bridesmaids. They wore ivory tea-length dresses and carried peach roses. Christmas is now only a happy memory, as the new year of 1990 is greeted, along with anew decade. December was a busy month at LuAnn, with numerous programs, many greeting cards and gifts for the rcsidcnts-all of which were very much appreciated. A 75th wedding anniversary was also celebrated on Christmas Eve, with Ruth and Harvey Frederick. Residents having birthdays in January: 2-Maxine Slabaugh 3-Laura Fredericks and Noble Flowers, Bertha Kreamer, 11-Donnabelle Hunsberger, 22Carl Kaufman and Richard Balmcr, 26—Reba Phillips, 31-Goldie Weaver. The bride is a graduate of NorthWood High School and Indiana University, and is a designer with Strahm Contract Interiors, South Bend. Her husband graduated from Anderson High School and Indiana State University, and is the band director for North Wood High School and Wakarusa Middle School. Following a delayed California honeymoon, they are at home at 501 Bison Ridge, Nappanee.
