The first message went through it on Thursday. xxx Arrangements are being made for a grand festival in Johnson’s Hall, one week from next Saturday evening, the receipts of which are to balance the debt yet unpaid on the bell. All are invited to attend. 75 YEARS AGO January 31, 1906 As the News goes to press a deal has been consummated whereby D Rickert comes into ownership of the boot and shoe stock of J.W. Rosbrugh. This large shoe business will be added to the Rickert dry goods and grocery business. By this deal, Harley J. Rickert,. the well-known bandmaster, becomes a partner and the firm will be D. Rickert and Son. xxx John M.
