Charles Davis has announced his candidacy for the office of Nappanee City Judge, on the Republican ticket. Davis has entered his declaration of candidacy to the Republican County Chairman. Roy Rodgers. Davis has served in the local capacity since the resignation of Richard Best. He is a law partner with Maynard Shrock, Nappanee.

His report stated that there had been 750 takeoffs and landings at the airport during the month, 10 aircraft serviced, 301.8 hours of aircraft rentals, 121.7 hours of student instruction by 25 students, 20 aircraft based at the airports, 10.4 hours of chartered flights, and that the June 10 Fly-In was weathered in at 11 am. Applications for state energy assistance

Applications for the State Allowance for Energy (Project SAFE) will be accepted at all electric utilities in Indiana. “Electric utility spokesmen have asked me to make very clear that those eligible for assistance have through March of 1980 to make application,” says Jean Merritt, executive director of the Indiana Office of Community services Administration, the state agency which administers the program. She continues, “People at the utilites would like to see applications made at a steady pace through the duration of Project SAFE. There is no reason, in this instance, to be first in line.” To be eligible, a person must be 65 Share a _ ride with a friend.

The county would pay the other half. Mellinger remarked that the city’s half of the project could total about SIO,OOO. Council members indicated interest in paying not more than that amount for the city’s half of the project, and Mellinger stated that he would check back with the county, and'report to council at the next meeting. Before retiring to begin work on the city’s budget for 1980, the council set the following dates for July council meetings: July 9, 16 and 30, 7:30 p.m. each date, in the council chambers at the municipal center. The meetings are open to the public. The July 30 special meeting, will be a budget meeting.
