"Funny Girl" casting dates are set. . .' Nappanee Civic Theatre will present the delightful musical “Funny Girl”, the story of Fanny Brice, for the first production of the 1979 season. The production will be given on two weekends. May 4 and 5 and May 11 and 12. Serving as director of the play is Abby McLean. Abby has participated in several productions of the Nappanee Civic Theatre, and received an ‘Oscar’ for her role in “Carousel.” Serving as producer for the play is Bobbie Wilson. Bobbie served as producer of the last production, “Bye, Bye, Birdie” and is a member of the Civic Theatre Board. Casting for the play will be held on February 20, 21, 22 and February 27, 28 and call back will be held on March 1. Needed for this musical are six women for the roles in the play, six for the chorus and six men for roles in the play and six men for the chorus. If you are interested in t helping with this production, come to the casting at West Side Park pavilion at 7 p.m. on any of the mentioned dates. People are also needed for backstage crews, props, and wardrobe. Come join the fun of participating in Nappanee Civic Theatre’s next production.

Panther pause. . .

Kellie Riley takes a breather during girls basketball sectional action last week at the Panther Pit. Kellie donned the Panther costume and joined a large group of North Wood fans to cheer the girls on to their second straight sectional title. The girls will face Plymouth in the opening game of the Elkhart Regional this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Tickets for the regional are on sale at the high school guidance office.

Miller Uline in fishing tournament

Miller Uline, 353 N. Hartman St., Nappanee, earned a Citation in the Metropolitan South Florida Fishing Tournament when he caught a 9-4 lb. mackerel in the Unlimited Division.
