Calling all band students. . . In the past week, the North Wood High School Jazz Band has performed for middle school band students to increase interest in the high school band program. The North Wood bands need everyone in eighth grade band and all students are encouraged to stay in band in high school. Parents can help by encouraging their student to continue with band for at least ode year in high school. “We have much to offer and although the work is not always simple, the rewards are good,” North Wood band director Adrian Mark said. “Just ask the students who went to contest last Saturday or anyone who went to the ISU Jazz Festival last year when North Wood was named the best band in its class. “The road to success is rugged and takes a lot of work, but with the help of all, it can be a growing and rewarding experience for everyne involved.”
