Catsup bottle contains information from years ago
While making improvements on the home directly east of the Nappanee Post Office, Ray Hopewell and Cos. found a catsup bottle buried under the front porch. The bottles contained a note which was apparently written by Florence (Huff) Neher. She and her husband, Oliver (Dutch) owned the property at that time—Spring, 1946. Parts of the note follow: ‘‘Floyd Byers are the east side neighbors; Arthur Millers, Geo. Fales and the Hoyts across the street. We the Nehers are 52 and 53 at this time. We operate an insurance and real estate office here at the house.” This porch glassed in the spring of 1948 during March and April. Sylvan (Woody) Parks assisted by Cal. Myers and Cecil (Chick) Haines layed the bricks and Jack Grau. . .did the carpenter work. The kitchen was also modernized the same spring, with a Mutschler kitchen unit. We have a parrot named Moxey whom we have had 23 years. We have 2 Pomeranians, doggies, about 2 years

Those starting at Wakarusa will go south on C.R. 3 to C.R. 52 and east to North Wood while riders beginning at NWHS go east to C. R. 7, north to C.
