Mrs. Gay returned home recently after spending the winter in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Harian of Cincinnati called on their aunt, Mrs. John Applegate, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller and Earl visited Emanuel Miller at Elkhart General Hospital Saturday evening. Wednesday Mrs. Chance Thomas called on Mr. and Mrs. Ople Ganshom. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gay and Brent of Louisville, Ky. and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wilson of Carmel spent Saturday night and Sunday with relatives and friends in northern Indiana. Sunday they enjoyed a family get-together at the Truman Nifong home. North Wood news Once again the halls are full of chatter, as school took up after a week-long spring vacation. Many people took trips, with Florida being one of the most popualr spots. It was kind of hard to get back into the groove of things, but now everything is in, full stride, as there are only 25 more days left for the seniors. -NWOne week ago, Wednesday, the St. Joseph Chapter of the National Foun-dation-March of Dimes, sponsored the second Life Sciences Convocation for High School students. The theme of the convocation was “Exploring Our Inner Space." Eight biology students attended, along with Mr. Neff. Representing North Wood were Roy Borkhoider, Blain Heckaman, Greg Arnott, Dann Reiser, Nanette Biever, Elaine Bigler, Caryn Hornish and Ginger Schneider. The convocation was held for one-half day, at 1.U.5.8. Dr. Patricia Bader was the main speaker. Her topic was “The Heredity Causes of Birth Defects.” -NWJunior sand seniors have been busy getting ready for the prom, May 8. All of the fine details have been drawn up, and now it’s just the matter of getting a date. The 1976 Future Farmers of America (FFA), North Wood Chapter, awards banquet and program was held Monday night at Raymond’s Restaurant in Wakarusa.
