Court news ... After a three week recess for the holidays. Nappanee's City Court was back in session last Saturday, with the following cases being heard. Judge Frank Algate presided. Donald Mewsgel. 40. Nappanee. charged with disobeying a stop sign, paid total fine and costs of $29. A 17 year old Elkhart youth, charged with disobeying a stop sign, paid total fine and cost of $29. A 17 year old Nappanee youth, charged with speeding 45mph in a 35mph zone, paid total fine and costs of $29. Gary Stutzman, 19, Nappanee, charged with speeding 80mph in a 65mph zone, paid total fine and costs of $29. Gerald Dickson. 23, Nappanee, charged with unreasonable speed, paid total fine and costs of $29. Ronald Elliott, 32, Nappanee, charged with disobeying a stop sign, paid total fine and costs of $29. Anna Rock, 47, Nappanee, charged with disobeying a stop sign, paid total fine and costs of $29. A 17 year old Nappanee youth, charged with disobeying a stop sign, paid total fine and costs of $29. Doris Lambert, 47, Syracuse, charged with speeding 70mph in a 55mph zone, paid total fine and costs of $33. ■Donald Eunsberger, 46, Elkhart, charged with public intoxication, paid total fine and costs of SSO. Dan Hawks, 20, Wakarusa, charged with illegal consumption of alcoholic beverages, paid total fine and costs of SSO, Shirley Gaerte, @B, Columbia City, charged with speeding 60mph in a 45mph zone, paid total fine and costs of $33. Field fire fails to damage corn No. damage was reported by the Nappanee Fire Dept, for a corn field fire at the Clifford Thomas farm approximately four miles southeast of town. The blaze, ignited by a neighbor's trash fire, was brought under control before it reached the standing corn.

Traffic mishaps cause $8 67 in damages Three minor traffic accidents occurred irf Nappanee during the past week, causing estimated damages of $867 to the six vehicles involved, and nd personal injuries to the driver, January 8 at 10:15 p.m. an accideQt occurred at the intersection of Jackson and Centennial St., near the Middle School. Jerry A. Sponseller, 18, 256 W. Walnut St., driver of a 1966 Chevrolet, had gone through the intersection into- a 1964 Chevrolet, being operated by Jim A. Mishler, 16, Rl. Damages were estimated at $l4O to Sponseller’s auto and $155 to the Mishler car. t? A rear end collision took place at noon January 12 on East Market St., in front of the Post Office. Leona Dallas, 39, Rl, driver of a 1971 Buick had stopped for traffic and her car was struck in the rear by a 1972 International pick-up truck. The Midwest Catering truck, owned by the Elkhart Cos., was being operated by Roxanne Bellows, 19, Elkhart. S2OO damage was done to the Dallas auto and $287 to the truck. Another accident on Jan. 12 occurred at 2:14 p.m. in Ihe 100 block of North Main St. A 1970 Ford, driven by Jacquiline Rush, 32, 602 E. Broad St., was backing from a parking place and struck a 1969 Chevrolet convertible, owned by Frank L. Schwartz, Wakarusa. The parked car received $25 in damages and Mrs. Rush’s auto received S6O in damages. - • •
