Three Nappanee residents received degrees from Indiana University, South Bend, and were eigible to participate in last Wednesday's commencement exercises, held in the Morris Civic Auditorium.

Psi lota Xi honors two new pledges at Goshen dinner, service

Eta Zeta Chapter of Psi lota Xi Sorority recently met at the Holiday Inn in Goshen to honor two pledges, Mrs. Larry Andrews and Mrs. Wayne Scheumann. Twenty-one members enjoyed dinner which was followed by the pledge services under the direction of Mrs. Stuart Alfano and Mrs. James Kline. Have you noticed the number of tiny kids going off the high diving board at the pool? For one who seldom ventures into water above the waist, it is terrifying to watch them go off that board. But it doesn't bother them a bit, and someames they arrive at the pool the minute it opens, and except for the shrrt rest periods ca'lcd by lifeguards, they spend the whole afternoon going off those boards. Mrs. Carl Yoder, Mrs. Ellis Hur.sberger and Mrs. Ray Walters traveled to LaPorte Saturday evening to attend a reception honoring Ira Symre, the Associate Grand Patron cf the Indiana OES. Two exchange students from Sweden arrived in Nappanee Sunday evening and will be spending the next few weeks in the area, in cooperation with a program sponsored jointly by Nappanee-Bremen Lions. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Culp, Tula Vista, California, spent the past two weeks visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Culp. 602 E. weelts vacation in Long Boat Key, Florida, which is near Sarasota. The families spent their time relaxing, swimming, fishing —a real vacation. Also vacation’Vg m Flor-'da last week were Alice Tobias, Ruby McCarty, Teresa McCarty and Jill Silvers, Enroute south the ladies stopped for short visits in Ruby Falls. Nashville and Lookout Mountain, Tennessee and in Lake City, Florida. The remainder of their stay was spent in the Miami Beach area where they saw the movie set for Flipper and visited the seaquarium and saw the dolphin himself as well as Hugo the whale. They a’so visited Jungle Safari. Bush Gardens in Tampa and enjoyed lots of ,swimming and shopping. On the return trip home, the Napp’nee'ns found time • for a stop in Nashville where they saw the Grand Ole Opry featuring Marty Robbins and Jeanne C. Riley. A total of 3,036 miles was driven by Alice, who served as chauffer for the group’s very enjoyable vacation. The second in a series of showers for Mrs. Michael D. Geyer was held. Sunday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Jack Miller. Assisting Mrs. Miller as hostesses for the shower were Mrs. Keith Klotz and Mrs. Roy Truex, Jr. Mrs. Geyer found her gifts arranged in a miniature baby bed. Appropriate games were played, and 'prizes awarded. Happy Father's Day, Dad!

No formal invitations have been issued and the couple requests no gifts.
