LETTERS Box 1225 San Juan, Texas 73589 * February 1968. Dear Friends, And He said unto them, “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature...” Mark 16:15. As Jesus sent forth the disciples to take the message of salvation and healing to the world, so He sends each of us to take this same Gospel to a lost world whether it is at home or in another country. The work in the village of Jose Delgado is coming along fine. We have been teaching them the books of the New Testament and script-

One evening, Carlyle heard one lady say to another, “I don’t know anything about the Bible.” There are many, many just like her. Pray for them. Carlyle and Bro. Miller went with Bro. Clyde Calhoun, a Christian film evangelist, down to the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. It is 1100 miles interior and almost to the Central American countries. The country is very beautiful and has rich farmland. They have banana plantations and grow papyas, mapgos, pineapple, and corn. Each evening in anew area, they showed films which present-

ed the message of deliverance for both the soul and the body. Large numbers of people came for the open-air meetings which were held in cooperation with the established churches. A number accepted Jesus as their Saviour and others were healed. The Lord blessed in a great way. In this area, witchcraft is very common. When they are sick, the people go to the witch doctors for help, only to find that they do not recover. So the power of God is greatly needed for both their spiritual and physical needs. And praise the Lord, we have a God that is alive and is able to do all this for them! In Oaxaca, Bro. Miller and Carlyle stayed in the home of General Jesus Pedroza. He is a retired general of the Mexican army with the highest honors ever given to any Mexican army leader. He and his wife and two children accepted the Lord as their Saviour three years ago and are very happy serving the Lord. The General has a

If any of them grow up, we should have some to give away. They seem healthy at the moment. ★ ★ ★ A recent Kiplinger letter still doesn't rule out the possibility of Rockefeller for the Republicans. This should be a wing ding of a political year. ★ ★ ★ Wayne Dunham showed us a copy of the new magazine "Eye". Failed to react favorably because we're two generations too old. One depressing note. A lead article was a horoscope. For this editor the notation was "Forget it. The month of March will bring nothing but bad luck to you". That was for Scorpio people, in case any of the rest want to be depressed too. ★ ★ ★ It's hoped that the audience will have as much fun with the "Odd Couple" as the cast seems to. It's hard work though. ★ ★ ★ There's been some confusion over the two organizations, both good, the American Cancer Society and the Elkhart County Cancer Society. The former one deals A quirements, the seven Camp Fire crafts and Camp Fire songs. Those present were Mrs. Larry Wagner, Mrs. Pat Zahner, Mrs. Joy Johnson, Mrs. Flossie Losee, Mrs. Pat Slabaugh and Mrs. George Rose. Sunday afternoon employees of Pletcher Furniture and their spouses, enjoyed a bowling party at Gold Crown Lanes. Pletchers mens team defeated their ladies team and were presented trophies proclaiming them as “World’s Biggest Cheaters”. Betty Stouder and Gary Golden were winners of the Scotch Doubles event. The party was followed by a supper at the Glen Reed home.
