Maria Popowzak And Robert Berger Wed Saturday St. Dominic's Catholic Church at Bremen, Indiana, was the setting for Saturday’s wedding of Miss Maria Fapowzak and Robert Berger. Rev. Richard Urbane performed the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Peter Popowzak, RRI, Nappatree, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Berger, RRI, Nappanee. The bride Wore a bridal gown of organza and hand clipped Chantilly lace over taffeta. Cage silhouette, bateau neckline, long tapered sleeves, “A” line skirt, detachable full Chapel train from the shoulders. The headpiece was a double crown of lace, highlighted with tiny pearls and Aurora crystal. Bouffant waist length veil of pure imported silk English illusion. Donald Berger was best man and Gene Popowzak and David Berger were groomsmen. Ring bearer Was Joey Chamberlin. Mrs. Donald Smith was the organist and Mr. Richard Mbnhaut vocalist. After a trip to Niagara and Ontario, the couple will reside in South Bend. The bride is a graduate of Napplanee High School and Purdue School of Nursing and will be employed at South Bend Memorial Hospital. The groom graduated from Nappanee High School and will teach in the South Bend School Corporation.

Bertha Kocher Dies- Wednesday ff Mre. Bertha E. Kocher, who has been living in Nappanee with daughter, Mrs. Karl Knobel, died at Elkhart General Hospital | Wednesday morning after a long illness. Mrs. Kocher was born in Greencastle on April 20, 1886. She married William E. Kocher on April 20, He died in 1953. Surviving are Mrs. Knobel and a son, William Kocher, Jr. of Brockport, New York. The funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenoastle on Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Thomas Heimlein will conduct them. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle. Carol Marchand Weds Hugh Howard On Saturday A double ring ceremony Saturday afternoon in the Nappanee Methodist church united Carol Rui'h Marchand and Hugh Winston Howard in marriage. Rev. Lowell Tcwnsend performed the ceremony. Mrs. Edward Eichenberger was the organist. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Marchand, 755 N/ Madison Street, graduated from Nappanee High School and works as an assignment clerk at General Telephone Cos. in Elkhart. The bridegroom, the son of Mr. A. Hugh Howard, 13320 Timbercrest Tniil, Ft. Wayne, graduated from Valparaiso High School and attended Purdue University. He is an engineer with General Telephone in Elkhart. The bride wore an A-line gown of bridal satin with a Empire bodice and a scoop neckline covered by a button-back long sleeve lace jacket. Dainty lace edged the detachable lace Watteau train. A lace crown outlined with seed pearls and crystals secured the short silk illusion veil. She carried a cascade of white carnations, ivy and salal foliage surrounding her white orchid corsage. The bride made her dress as well as those of her attendants. The matron of honor was Mrs. Steven Gray. Bridesmaids were Miss Diana Peterson and Cynthia Marchand, sister of the bride. The flower girt was Laurie Songster. The attendants wore floor length gowns of pink taffeta. The matron of honor’s featured a floating hack panel of pink chiffon. An Empire waist, bows at center front and A-line skirts were features of all the dresses. They carried nosegays of white carnations, pink baby’s breath and white streamers. The flower girl’s dress featured a lace bodice and she carried a basket of vgjhite petals with streamers. Mr. Jack fftrbing of Ft. Wayne was the 'best man. Groomsmen were David 'Marchand and John Songster of Cedar Rapids. The guests were seated by Robert Robinson and Lanny Kelly. A reception followed in the church dining room where the guests were served by Mrs. El-
