2 cans (1514 oz. each) corned beef hash 1 tablespoon prepared mustard Ml cop catsup 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce T can (8 oz.) sliced cling peaches, drained 6 to 8 slices cooked bacon Combine corned beef hash, mustard, catsup and Worcestershire sauce. Place in an 8 x 8 baking dish. Top with peach slices. Bake in a moderate oven (375 F.) about 25 minutes. Garnish with bacon. Makes 6 to 8 servings. ★ ★ ★ EASY OVEN STEW Sprinkle 2 lbs. beef, cut up for stew, with seasoned flour. Toss with 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in 3-qt. casserole. Bake uncovered at 400 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Stir ohce. Add 4 each: small onions, carrots, potatoes. Add 1 cup sliced celery; Salt and pepper to taste. Pour over 2 8-oz. cans Hunt’s Tomato Sauce, 1 can water. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1% hours. Makes 4 servings. ★ ★ ★ Do you have green tomatoes you’d like to use? TOMATO MINCEMEAT 8 quarts green tomatoes, washed, stems removed, and cut in quarters 2 lemons, cut in pieces 4 lbs. brown sugar [. 2 lbs. raisins 1 cup cider vinegar 1 tablespoon salt 2 teaspoons ground cloves 1 teaspoon ground allspice 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground ginger 14 teaspoon ground mace Put tomatoes and lemons through a food chopper. Stir in the sugar, raisins, and a mixture of the vinegar, salt and spices. Cook about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour into sterilized jars and seal. Makes 8 pints. ★ ★ ★ A. hearty soup for a cold, fall evening. MANHATTAN TUNA CHOWDER 2 cans (614 or 7 oz.) tuna V large onion, sliced 2 cups cubed potatoes 1 tup diced carrots ’4 cup diced celery 2 Bans (I lb. each) tomatoes 2 cups water IVi teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon thyme Va teaspoon pepper Chopped parsley Drain oil from tuna into saucepan; heat. Add onion; cook until not brown. Add potatoes, carrots, celery', tomatoes, water, salt, thyme and pepper.

We ll have to keep trying. Cooler weather now and the flies are getting obnoxious. Ever notice how many of them seem to have wet feet? New’ cars smell almost as nice as fresh bread. The visit of Pope Paul to New York City last Monday was surely a wonderful thing. Planning and scheduling for the affair must have been monumental. What a pace for a 68 year old pontiff! Bet he was really bushed by the time he boarded the TWA liner for the return trip to the Vatican. If you travel straight north, and every other person does likewise, all would meet at North Pole. Texas State Capitol has 18 acres of floor space, and 400 rooms.

The family met at the noon hour for dinner together and all were present except two grandchildren. In the afternoon over 100 guests came to wish the couple many more anniversaries. Mr. and Mrs. Tobias left Tuesday morning with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Yoder to go to Washington, D.C., where Mr. Yoder has been working. They- will visit there the remainder of the week.
