Bob Mitchell Nappanee 68 Wakarusa 53 a The NHS Bulldogs won their sixth decision in 11 games by defeating a scrappy Wakarusa Indian quintet 68-53 Tuesday night. Guard Dave McGrew paced Nap to a 14-13 lead at the end of the first period, but the Bulldogs pumped in 12 straight points and outscored Waky 20-6 in the second stanza to take a commanding 34-19 halftime lead. Waky narrowed the gap to nine points, 40-31, midway in the third stanza, but c Nap bounced back despite losing three starters via the foul route and at the fibal gun it was the Bulldogs on top 68-53. Nap had three players in double figures and actually outscored their opponent from the field. Truex hit 23, McGrew 18, and Mel Dean 11. Guard Dick Holdeman paced the Indians with 20 points. Nap hit 23 of 50 field goal attempts for 46 per cent. Waky connected on 19 of 54 for 35 per cent. Friday night the Bulldogs entertain Columbia City’s once-beaten and always tough Eagles. LETTERS Phoenix, Arizona January 2, 1964 The Nappanee Advance-News Nappanee, Indiana -Dear Sir: We are spending the winter in Phoenix, Arizona, and preaching ■for a Mission church. The weather is beautiful in this valley. Temperature yesterday, January 1, was 74. We sat out in the sun around the swimming pool. We want to go this P.M. to the fat stock show which is the third largest in the country. There are many interesting things to see, the cotton fields, the citrus fruit, the dates which are ripe now and very delicious. The Canyons are beautiful. Oak Chfeek the most beautiful, the Grand Canyon the largest and the Salt River Canyon. The Rocky Mountains* Desert, Cactus of all kinds, copper mines and niany other places of interest. We expect to be home the first of May. C. A. Stewart Camel Vista Apt. 8 5112 E. Thomas Rd. Phoenix, Arizona Most of world’s inventions seem to have been produced by dissatisfied people.
