Paul Wise is running for Councilman at Large on the Republican ticket. Mr. Wise has been in Nappanee since 1949, when he bought the Collins Furniture Cos. His brother William joined him in business here the following year in the Wise Furniture Company. Mr. Wise, his wife Helen, and daughters Christine and Shirley, live at 1405 E. Market. They are members of the Mount Tabor Church. Mr. Wise is a member of Kiwanis, American Legion, and VFW and is a past president of the Nappanee Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Wise said that he is a candidate because he believes that everyone must meet his responsibility to the community in which he lives and works.
>5 Clerk-Treasurer Elnore J. Senff has announced her candidacy for election to this office. She was appointed Clerk-Treasurer when Mr. Greene became Mayor. She and her husband Owen and daughter Barbara live at 751 N. Hartman. Mrs. Senff has been active in the Camp Fire Council, is Past Matron of the Eastern Star, and a member of the VFW and Legion Auxiliaries. She has been active in Republican Party affairs, having served as vice-precinct committeewoman.

Kenneth Walters is candidate for re-election in the Fourth Ward. Mr. Walters was elected Councilman in 1959. An ex-marine, he was born and raised in Nappanee. He and his wife Phyllis and their four children, Beth Ann, Steven, Wendy, and Ron, live at 551 S. Elm. He is in the sales department of Indiana Laboratories. Mr. Walters expressed his willingness to run again for the office of Councilman because he too is concerned with the City's future.

CHARLES LEHMAN Charles Lehman, 301 N. Hartman, is our candidate for Mayor. When he made the decision to seek this office, Mr. Lehman said that he has been extremely interested in the work of the Nappanee Common Council, and that he is, as a businessman, resident, and parent, interested in the city of Nappanee. Lehman and his wife, Dorothy, have four children, Phil, Rob, Tod, and Linda. Mr. Lehman has been in the hardware business for 28 years, first going into it with his father. He was elected Councilman in 1959. Mr. Lehman was a member of the Nappanee Fire Department for 18 years. He is a member of the Methodist Church, Kiwanis, and the Masonic Lodge.
David Widmoyer, 206 W. Centennial, seeks re-election for Councilman of the Second Ward. Mr. Widmoyer was appointed to this post upon the resignation of Dr. Fleetwood. Mr. Widmoyer, associated with his father at the B&B Restaurant, is currently Excellent Grand Royal Arch Captain of the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons in the State of Indiana. He and his wife, Donna, have three children, Beth Ann, Gail Lynn, and Clark. Mr. Widmoyer is vitally interested in matters concerning Nappanee and has been President of the Nappanee Planning Commission.

Ray Schwartz is running as Republican candidate for Councilman from the First Ward. Mr. Schwartz has lived in the Nappanee area all of his life. He has been in business here 14 years, starting his own business six years ago. Mr. Schwartz has been active in the Nappanee Jaycees, with the Fire Department, and on the Board of the Nappanee Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the EUB Church, where he has been active in the Sunday School, the Men's Followship and building committee. In entering politics, Mr. Schwartz said he does so out of great interest in Nappanee and with a feeling for the need of Christian men to perform their duty to their community.
The Third Ward Candidate for the Council is Mrs. Roberta Loudermilk. As far as anyone knows, she is the first woman to run for this office in Nappanee. Mrs. Loudermilk has lived in Nappanee for 27 years, moving here from Knox. Guy Loudermilk, her husband, has been in the U.S. Railway Mail service for 22 years. They have children, Mrs. Jane Brooks and Rodney, who is a teacher in Indianapolis. The Loudermilks owned the Loudermilk Orchard for seven years. Mrs. Loudermilk accepted the candidacy because she feels that it is a job that a woman can do well. She said that often men are too busy with their business affairs to take on this job.
