The high school and college graduates will have special recognition during the Sunday worship service of the Union Center Church on Sunday morning. Miller, M.M. 2 from Norfolk, Va., visited Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Miller last week. They returned to their base on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Slabaugh, Ira Nissley, Rosa Miller, Viola Miller, Linda and Viola Chupp and Mary Miller of Foraker called on Ruth Ann Miller at the Ephriam Miller home on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Joe Hochstetler and Mr. and Mrs. Andy Mast called on Mr. and Mrs. Andy Yoder at Millersburg on Sunday afternoon. A number of the Nappanee area attended the funeral of Monroe Schrock of Middlefield, Ohio, on Wednesday. The Schroek’s formerly lived east of Nappanee. The third grade pupils of the Union Center School entertained their mothers at a Mother’s tea and program at the school on Friday afternoon. In addition to the children’s program, Mrs. Don Flora showed pictures of their recent trip to Europe. Approximately 40 mothers and friends attended the tea. Mrs. Edwin Andrews is the teacher. There will be no Sunday evening services at the Union Center Church Sunday evening in favor of he baccalaurate services at New Paris. Baptism will be held at the Salem Mennonite Church in the morning service on Sunday, May 19. sth & 6th Grade Track Meet An Exciting Affair One of the most exciting events of the year is the annual fifth and sixth grade track meet in which all the boys in those grades in Nappanee participate and many more come to cheer for their favorites. Thursdays meet provided a close score in the fifth grade with Hiii’s room beating out Strakowski’s 46 1/6 to 45 5/6. Stump’s room was 3rd with 22, and Howard fourth with 17. Berger’s room was first in the sixth grade meet with 37 19/20, Cassel second with 35 7/20, Hunsberger 30 7/10, and Pletcher 28. The three-month tour was the Spiegel Grove’s participation in Solant Amity IV, the Navy’s peo-ple-to-people program in the South Atlantic. The ship was visited by thousands of persons in African ports before she returned to the United States via Brazil. Spiegel Grove crewmen delivered tons of Operation Handclasp cargo to welfare organizations and missions in the African ports. The cargo was donated in the United States for distribution to needy families overseas.

Studies indicate that the Gulf Stream flow's closer to Palm Beach, Florida, than to any other city.
