Ideal of Service if THE IDEAL of dedicated service is one which is regarded as the foundation of : every profession. But like many ideals, it is too often “honored in the breech”. It is our awareness of the gap between promise and performance which has constantly caused us to keep the ideal of service foremost in the minds of all of our staff. In our opinion a profession such as ours becomes pointless as a way of life unless the desire to alleviate the burden of bereavement is uppermost in the minds of its practitioners. A. field goal and three free throws by Truex gave Nap a 45-36 lead at halftime. Nap hit 19 of 37 shots in the first half. Ligonier cooled off considerably in the second period and hit only 3 of 14, but still hit a respectable 14 of 31 in the first half. The Bulldogs defense tightened in the third stanza and permitted Ihe Raiders just four field goals. Nap meanwhile steadily increased their lead with Hand and Lehman hitting well from outside, and Berger and Truex connected from un derneath to put the Bulldogs out in front 64-45 going into the final period. Late in the fourth period, Ligonie.r trimmed Naps lead to 11 points, 74-63, but two fielders by Berger, and a fieid goal apiece by Truex and sub Dave McGrew increased Naps lead to 82-65 at the gun. The Bulldogs hit exactly 50 per cent by connecting on 35 of 70 shots, which is pretty fair country shooting. Ligonier sank 24 of 72 ntiempts for 33 per cent.
