Nappanee Is Favored With A 4 i Good Summer One wonders after the last two months in Nappanee, why any of us ever go away for a summer vacation. Warm days and cool nights have provided perfect resort weather. Comparing our temperatures with even as nearby cities as South Bend, we are struck by the ideal summer climate in which we live. There are two good summer theatre companies in the area, both providing top entertainment. The recreation program is in full swing. There are ball games for all ages and. now, for all sexes. There is the highly successful arts and crafts program for the younger children in which they make all kinds of useful and decorative things. There are golf lessons. There is the comprehensive swimming program for our youth. Near us lie the lake resort areas where water recreation is available to us after a short drive. On the way we see some of the Midwest’s most beautiful country, where the “corn is as high as an elephant’s eye.” Aren’t we lucky to live in Jfappanee? Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Pletcher, Jr., and family left July 26, from O’Hare Field Chicago for their home in Okinawa, after spending the last month visiting their parents, Mrs. Charles N. Pletcher, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hoffer.
