Middlebury Amish Wonder If Buggy Race Will Be Last week the Advance-news suggested that our Amish friends stage a buggy race for all to see. Many persons have indicated that they certanlly would like to witness such an event. - Word reached the newspaper that a group of the Amish over Middlebury way are all set and just want to know where and when they can race their Nappanee counterparts. No word has been heard yet officially from the Amish nearer Nappanee. One of the Amish near Middlebury said that this must indicate that they are timid ad afraid of getting beaten. Another theory is that the offer of a prize didn’t interest them. At any rate, the Advance-News is waiting word from some of the young Amish men that they’d participate in such an event. General agreement seems to be that such an event could provide lots of fun for everyone. ■ --• *■**-*- 68 Attend Senior Citizen Picnic The Senior Citizens Picnic was held at the Nappanee Community Park Thurs., July 19 with 68 attending.
