Tom tetiman Hurt In Swimming Accident Tom Lehman, son of the Dillard Lehmans, was 'badly hurt in a swimming accident Sunday. He was diving near Oakwood Park at Lake Wawasee and fractured a vertebra in the neck causing pressure on the spine. He was taken to Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis.yThe pressure was causing partial paralysis below the shoulders. He was put into traction and underwent surgery Monday. His condition was reported as satisfactory.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Pitcher, Jr. and daughters Judith Ann and Gail Lee, are visiting his mother, Mrs. Charles N. Pletcher, Sr. and her parents, Mr. aijd Mrs. Willard Hoffer. They arrived in Chicago on June 30, where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Hoffer.

A group of students from the Wjnona School of Photography visited Coppes, Inc. last week. Using a model, they studied various techniques of photographing the kitchens. All Rinds of cameras were used. The School, new in its 4fet year, offers a wide variety-of courses on commercial photography.

Mrs. Charles Reed will be hostess to the Everready Club on Wednesday, July 11 at 2 p.m. Roll call will be “My Most Embarrassing Moment.”

Tractor Pulling Contest SPONSORED BY NAPPANEE JATCEES IN CONJUNCTION WITH NAPPANEE COMMUNITY FAIR Stauffer Park Nappanee Wednesday & Thursday - July 11 &12 - 6:30 P.M. Six Prizes Top Prize $25.00 , Entry Fee: $3.00 RULES 1. Drawbar must not measure over twenty (20) inches from the ground. 2. Height of drawbar, etc., may be rechecked at any time by contest officials. No changes to be made after tractor is entered. 3. The pulling distance of the boat shall be ten (10) feet per pull. 4. Each driver shall be limited to (1) minute hook-up time. 5. All pulls will be limited to thirty (30) seconds. 6. Permit two pulls, both being from same end of boat whenever possible. 7. Jerking of boat will disqualify pull. 8. Referee will blow whistle when wheels start spinning if load is not moving. , , 9. Tractor tire must not touch edge of pull lane when pulling. 10. No tractor shall be allowed to raise front end of tractor over twenty-four (24) inches off pavement while pulling. 11. All tractors must be of wheel-type design, equipped with farm tractor bar type tires. 12. Drivers must be seated at all times and have at least one hand on the steering wheel. 14. Any rule broken disqualifies that tractor from the contest. 13. Only one (1) driver per tractor. 15. Judges decisions will <be final. 16. Each contestant must weigh in on his tractor at Robinson & Price, 209 So. Main, Nappanee.
