HASTINGS I l Special instrumental contest numbers were given during the worship services at Island Chapel Sunday morning. “Andante and Gavotte” by Floyd O. Harris was a clarinet trio played by Barbara Fox, Susie Price and Kathy Blosser. “Woodland Whispers” a saxaphone duet was given by Connie Biller and Linda Beer. Both numbers were accompanied on the piano by Carolyn Biller. The Holy City was rendered by Linda Beer accompanied by Ginger Hollar at the piano. Rev. Paul Garner’s message Sunday morning was based on “Transformed.” DISTRICT MUSIC CONTEST Three Hasting girls participated in the District Piano Contest at Mishawaka High School, Saturday. Ginger Hollar and Connie Biller won a first and Carolyn Biller a second in piano solos. TERRY HOLLAR IN U. S. Terry Hollar with the U. S. Navy has traveled on the U. L. S. William C. Lawe, DD 763 for several months, going to Cuba, around the Dominican Rebublic and to the Island of Jamacia. He plans to fly home Feb. 20th. for an eight day leave. Those accepting the invitation to services at the Milford Methodist Church Thurs. eve for inspiring missionary program from Island Chapel were Rev. and Mrs. Paul Garner, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Haney, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Haney, Kendall Biller, Mrs. Henry Biller, Mrs. Robert Rumfelt, and Mrs. Enos Hollar. The John C. Yoder family spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs, Harvey Hollar. Saturday eve they visited the Lee Tusing family and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hagg and family who just recently moved into their new home, near Chapman Lake. Among those visiting Charles Haney last week were Paul Hollar, Mrs. Henry Biller, Mrs. Robert Rumfelt and Donal. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fox and David were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rumfelt and Donald at 19’s Restaurant, Wakarusa, Sunday. In the afternoon they visited Charles Haney and Steven at the home of Alonzo Haneys who were their dinner guests along with Mrs. Ruth Haney, and Dart Leming, Goshen. Afternoon visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thompson and new baby son, Todd of Argon Rd., Warsaw. Mr. and Mrs. Deloss Harmon and Duane visited the Ramon Alber family, Leesburg, Saturday eve.
