Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fifer and Penny were Mr. and Mrs. Deloss Harmon and sons. Duane Harmon was an overnight guest Sat. Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Mast, Linda and Donnie plan to move this week, from the Paul Hollar house, tq Illinois. Their Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Bird and family, Goshen. ISLAND CHAPEL NEWS Mrs. Robert Rumfelt was hostess to the Women’s Society of World Service at her home, Friday afternoon. For a prelude, Mrs. Oscar Haney played three Spanish musical numbers on the piano. Devotions were given by Mrs. Robert Heckaman, reading from Psalms the 67th chapter and giving prayer. Mrs. Robert Rumfelt sang, “Let There Be Light.” Offering was taken as the ladies sang, “Thanks To God.” Mrs. Enos Hollar presented the lesson, “Venture Into Latin America.” Mrs. Henry Biller an article, “Discovering Latin America.” Spiritual Life Report by Mrs. Robert Heckaman was, “Six Steps to Christian Faith.” Plans were discussed for the World Service Day Program, Sunday morning, Feb. 4th. Roll call was answered with a Bible verse containing the word, “neighbor.” Secretary and treasurer report was read by Mrs. Robert Rumfelt. Thankoffering was $47.25. The meeting closed with a chain of prayers. Visitors were Mesdames Richard and Paul Hollar. Mrs. Robert Heckaman observed her birthday, reporting she had received cards and lovely handkerchiefs from her Junior Sunday School members. Mrs. Rumfelt served dessert, cracker v sandwiches, coffee and mints. Mrs. Enos Hollar will be the February hostess. A chrysanthemum, by any other name, would be easier to spell.
