It is a little late to extend my sympathy in the passing of Tom Myers, but that is another of theme things. We think to do, but we don’t act. I first met Tom several years ago, before we moved to Indiana, and saw him in Goshen sometimes since we moved over here. He was a man of character and missed by all who knew him. Appointment of Warren O. Druefzler as associate director for Elkhart County Crippled Children’s Society, Inc. sponsoring the Rehabilitation Center was announced Feb. T by H. Ben Williams, president of the board of directors. Mr. Druetzler’s basic responsibilities will include public relations, capital fund raising, and administrative- duties in the seven counties surrounding Elkhart. Mr. Druetzler is married, has three children and lives in Elkhart. He graduated from Michigan State university in 1951 and went into military service for two years. -During this p e-r ie d 5 he gs a Juemher of-the U. '-S; Olympic trade team that competed in Helsinki, Finland. In his new position Mr! Druetz ler will be available! for speeches to area groups on sub jects relating to the Rehabilitation Cehter. Crippled Children’s Society, Inc. is currently giving therapy to over 317 handicapped children and adults from five upper Indiana counties and three in lower Michigan. Os these 13 are from Nappanee.

Main, is one pi 50 basketball players participating in the AllArmy basketball team tryouts which began Jan. 2i at the Presidio of San Francisco, Calif. Pirn team will be the Army’s representative in the inter service championship at Lowry Air Force Rase, 'Denver, C010.,' March 14-T7. In preparation for the tournament the team will play a 12 game schedule, including tbe Stardust Invitational ''Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev., Feb. 9-11. In its first game the team is pitted against the undefeated Olympic Club of San Francisco. The team is also scheduled to play the wellknown Phillips Oilers from Bartlesville, Okla. Eight former All-Americans are among the soldiers trying out for the team. Lakins entered the Army in September 1959, completed : basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and is a member of the 44th Engineer Battalion in Seoul, Korea. He is a 1957 graduate of Nappanee high school and attended North Carolina state college. Busy people seldom have time to worry over whether or not they are happy.
