Mrs Eichenberger Nappanee United Nations Chairman Mayor J. Maxwell Clouse announces that he has appointed Mrs. Edward Eichenberger, 756 E. John, as United Nations Day chairman for Nappanee this year. President Eisenhower has proclaimed Oct 24, 1959 to be celebrated thruout the United States as United Nations Day. Any civic clubs, ladies clubs or fraternal groups who wish to have Mrs. Eichenberger appear on their programs on or near Oct 24, should contact her early. Her talks on United Nations were very well received by several groups last year, the mayor adds. Mrs. Eichenberger calls attention to the television series of “United Nations in Action" which is seen on WSBT-TV each Sunday at 10 a.m. Last Sunday CBS Correspondent Larry LeSueur conducted an interview with UN Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge, who was designatedas President Eisenhower’s personal representative on Premier Kruschev’s American tour. General Assembly sessions of the United Nations began this Tuesday and each Sunday the program will present interviews with top UN diplomats and will examine the important United Nations story of the week. "It is unfortunate that the time of this program falls during church or Sunday school hours,” Mrs. Eichenberger states, “However I would like to call it to the attention of those who may have a particular interest or whose circumstances permit viewing it." Good Aerial View of Nappanee In Lehmans Window Lehmans Hardware has a window display that is attracting a lot of attention; two large aerial photographs, showing Nappanee area in a scale of one inch to 400 feet. It is quite easy to pick out landmarks, even autos on the downtown streets can be seen, and some features of the landscape, such as Millers orchard and Steve Stuckman’s pony track can be seen in a way not possible from the ground. Residents in the newly-built section in the northeast corner can even pick out their homes, however older homes are mostly obscured by trees. Charles Lehman got the photo maps by writing to Washington, D. C. where maps may be obtained showing any section of the country. It expects to issue 52,50< patents in 1959, or approximately 1,000 each week. Perfection of means and confusion of goals seem—in my opinion—to characterize our age.—Albert Einstein.
