Arthur Stickels, Wakarusa were at Clayton Anglemyers on Labor Day. Brenda Stouder, Nappanee, dined Sunday with Vera Cripes and they all attended the funeral of Irven Stiver, New Paris. Mr. and Mrs. John Walker of Mishawaka called Saturday evening on her sister, Ervin L. Miller family and Etta Iffert. Visitors Sunday were Mrs. Miller’s brothers, Bill Keefers, Goshen, and Junior Keefers, Mishawaka. Dean and Devon Herr of Etna Green spent the weekend with their grandparents, Roy Herrs. LADIES DO CANNING Union Center church ladies met Friday and canned 100 quarts of peaches and 25 quarts of apples for Church of the Brethren welfare home at Mexico. Sidney Brubachers and Lavon dined Sunday with her parents,
the Joe Martins, Wakarusa. Others there were the families of David Hoover, Leonard Martin and James BechteL Ezra Martin hurt his foot last Wednesday afternoon when his tractor upset. Sidney Brubachers called on him Sunday and that evening they called on the Jason Ramers to see their adopted son. Dinner guests Sunday of Christian Knlps sr. were Orlan King family, Ernest Blosser of Archbold, 0., Isaac Kulps, Goshen, Ernest Kulp, New Paris, Christian Kulp jr. family. Callers were the John Van Pelts of Columbiana, 0., and the Henry Shanms, Wakarusa. Jim Davidhizers, Paul Rummels, and Glenn Finks were at State Fair Thursday.
Union Grove Ladies Aid is meeting all day today at the church. The house beside Union Grove church, often used as a home by the caretaker, is being remodeled. Judy Gongwer, Wakarusa, and Thelma Martin went to a youth retreat last week in Michigan. CHORUS IN MICHIGAN Gospel Light chorus of Conservative Mennonite congregations will have three services in Michigan Sunday, at Vassar, Mount Pleasant and at Flint. There are about 35 voices in this chorus including young people from Bethel, Pleasant Grove, Townline and Griner. Pleasant Grove Sunday evening. Last Tuesday evening, the young folks went to Jake Millers to work on their potato mission project, and this Wednesday evening they plan to hand out tracts at Hope Rescue Mission in South Bend while the older folks of Bethel give the evening program ' and meal. The Joe Detwilers of Delavan, 111., spent Friday* night with her aunt, Mrs. Barbara Diener and family. Mrs. Diener’s uncle, Daniel Mast and wife of Salisbury, Pa., were guests Saturday and the Moses Masts of Millersburg were callers. Floyd J. Chupps entertained relatives at a family dinner Labor Day.
