Mrs. Waiter Miller presided in the absence of the president, Mrs. Kendall Biller, who has been confined to her bed for several weeks. Following special prayer for the sicfkby Mrs. Alva Johnston, the meeting concluded with singing of “Blest be the Tie.” In spite of zero weather, attend* ance at Mt. Tabor Sunday morning was 120. Rev. Frank Craibill of Columbia City used the text, “Then r’cier opened his mouth, and said, Os a truth I perceive that God is no re spec tor of persons,” Acts 10:34, for his morning sermon, ‘The Equality of Man.” OGYA had charge of evening service. All members took part in the skit, “Send Out the Light,” and specials were a duet my Doug and Bobbie Douglas, a trumpet solo by John Yeager, solos by Joy Stackhouse and Kathleen Hepler, piano solo by James Walters, and reading by Leota Haney. REVIVAL AT OLIVE Olive Branch Church of God, of which Rev. Albert Troup is pastor, is conducting revival services which will be concluded Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Yoder, Sandra and Vickie, Mr. and Mns. Hudson McCuen and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Young joined Kehdall Biller family for a potluck dinner Sunday. Afternoon callers were the Millers. Lois and Berniece Harlan expected to spend the weekend with their parents, but returned to South Bend Sunday morning because of the extremely cold weather in order to “keep the home fires burning.” Besides the subfreezing temperatures,. Webster lake were Saturday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Fisher and the Gerald Hartzells. Mr. and Mrs. Jaimes Gall and Diane were afternoon and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Gall at Winona lake Sunday. Mrs. Sanford Gall has been ill with flu and recovering. Camp Creek Ladies Aid will work today at Nappanee Brethren Service Center. The work is more like play as the workers are helping the needy, and “many hands make light work.” Rev. and Mrs. Harlan Smith, returned missionaries from China, will have charge of services at Camp Creek church at 7:00 p. m. Sunday. The public is invited. Rev. Smith is now pastor of Syracuse and Bethel Churches of the Brethren. BABY IN HOSPITAL Mrs. Willard Higgins was discharged from South Bend Osteopathic hospital last Wednesday, but her baby daughter was left at the hospital until it becomes stronger. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Disher and Carol were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Higgins and Mrs. Dorothy Anthony. Because of the hazardous road conditions, only seven ladies and a number of children attended Millwood Chapel Ladies Aid Wednesday afternoon at the Mrs. Orville Higgins home. Mrs. David Meeks gave an appropriate poem. The, hostess served cup cakes with heart decorations, fruit ’ salad, cookies and coffee. Patsy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller, is ill. Mrs. Warren McCuen gave a birthday dinner for her daughter, Mrs. Rufeell Yeager, Feb. 2. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Yeager, John Charles and Carolyn, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Murray of Elkhart, and Rev. and Mrs. McCuen. They enjoyed homemade ice cream. The Russell Yeagers entertained Rev. and Mrs. Warren McCuen and John Mark Slagle. Sunday. PROGRESSIVE HOMEMAKERS Mrs. Glenn Disher will entertain Progressive Homemakers club next Wednesday afternoon. Roll call will be “A television or magazine slogan.” Mrs. Floyd Anglin and Mrs. Lester Rowland will have the program. Mr. and Mrs. Merl Rowland of Silver Lake were Sunday supper guests of the Lester Rowlands. Friday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edler called on Mrs. Bill Harman and sons in Nappanee and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hecbaman at Bremen. There was a brilliant display of the aurora borealis Monday night. Such phenomenons of nature make a person feel very insignificant, indeed. FROM LAST WEEK Camp Creek Willing Workers Sunday school class met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Welty, jr. in Bourbon Jan. 30. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Disher gave devotions and the program and the hostess served barbecues, potato chips and fruit salad. Next meeting will be at Eldon Dishers. Mr. a-nd Mrs. Willard Higgins are parents of a baby girl bom Feb. 2 at Osteopathic lieppitai,. Mishawaka. The little lady weighed almost seven pounds at birth and has been named Meri Michele. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Orville Higgins a-nd Mr. and Mrs. O. Paul Stackhouse. Mr. and Mrs. Buell Hoffer celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary Jan. 16. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wedrick of Warsaw and Mrs. Howard Williams and daughters of Atwood were dinner guests. Jan.. 30 a group of Mt. Tabor people attended revival at Columbia City Church of God. Mrs. Buell Hoffer and Mrs. Walter Miller sang. Others making the thip were the Floyd Anglins, Hudson McCuen, Mrs. Ora Anglin, Mrs. Alva Johnston, Dick Garrick, Dave Bone, Lyle Yoder, Mrs. Lloyd Hepler, Mrs. John Applegate, the Wilfred Wises, and Walter and Earl Miller. Mrs. Fred Hepler and daughter, Florence, went to Dayton, 0., Jan. 31 to see Mrs. Kepler’s sdSter-in-jaw, Mrs. Ray Mays, who passed away after her Indiana relatives arrived. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Parks took their daughters, Carol Ann Brook and Marlene Parks, to Claypool Steak House Jian. 31 as a birthday celebration. Mr. .and Mrs. Ernest Parks celebrated their silver wedding anniversary Feb. 4. In the evening best wishes were extended them by Cloyce Hoffers, Harold Clouses, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reprogle and Sue, Dallas Wymans and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Parks. They were presented with a silver tray, snack tray and tkHbdts tray. Mrs. Hobart Stackhouse assisted in the Widaman liaw office and at Warsaw Court house recently while some of the regular staff were ill with flu. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Klqtz, the Junior Harvey Weitys, and the Glenn Dishers filled' their cars with youngsters and drove to the Middlebury home of Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Dodge Sunday afternoon. Judy and' Kiathy Welty, Kent and Randy Klotz, Tommy Watkins, Stephen and David Shively, Lew Snell, Bonnie, Janice and Debbie Flory, Carol Disher and Sue Reprogle went sliding on the hills, after which Mrs.. Dodge served hot dogs, fruit salad, cake, hot chocolate and coffee. EDGAR CARROLL DIES Edgar Carroll died at Elkhart hospital Jan. 31 after a heart attack earlier in the day. Surviving are his wife, Cecil Hammian, whom he married in 1931, a daughter, Mrs. Oarlfoh Freeman, Battle Creek, Mkh:; a step-son, Wendell Glassmam, Elkhart, six grandchildren, a brother, two half-sisters and a half-brother. The funeral was Feb. 3 in EUdhart with burial in Rice cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Myers and Delbert, Millwood, and Lloyd MBler r family, Bouibon, were dinner guests Feb. 2 of the Kenneth Hartzells at Union Center, to celebrate the birthdays of Mrs. Myers and Ruth Jane Miller and the IBth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd' Miller. Mrs. A. M. Hawley, who has been ill, is feeling better. PARENTS OF GIRL Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stackhouse are the parents of a 7 pound, 9 ounce daughter, Lyn Ann, born Jan. 25 at Chicago Wesley Memorial hospital. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Keller of Bourbon and Mr. and Mrs, O. Paul Stackhouse of Plymouth, and great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Austin, Plymouth, and Mrs. James Heckaman, Millwood. Martha Fox of Fostoria, Ohio, spent a recent weekend with home folks. Pflc. Donald Disher, wife and baby and Mrs. Wilbur Devalt of Syracuse, were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Disher and Carol Feb. 3. Donald had a five day furlough. The Dick Carrioles, Buell Hoffers and Robert Wymans entertained Mt. Tabor Young Adult S. S. class Feb. 3 in the Hoffer home. Dick Oarrick was elected president; Bill Harman, vice president; and Mrs. Lowell Anglin, secretarytreasurer. Dave Bone was retained as editor of the news bulletin, “Mt. Tabor Neighbor.” Many of America’s homeless heros were forgotten men, until “Ma” Crawford opened her heart and her home to them. Iya Burkholder spent six weeks at Gays Creek. Kv., doing general work at the mission where David Showalter is serving as superintendent. She came home Monday after going to Ohio first. Stanley Miller, Elva Dean Miller. and Omer Miller, went to Berlin, 0., Friday to attend the Bible school program of Conservative Mennonite church.
