By Manr Burkey Vernon Slatoaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Slabaugh, who was in the army in Germany, received his release and returned home Dec. 30. A chicken supper with-ice cream and cake was served Thursday ait the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Miaust, west of Goshen, for birthdays of her mother, Mrs. Neal Slaibauglh, Dec. 30, brother Vernon, Dec. 29. and sister, Shirley Ann Slabaugh, Jan. 8. At the supper were' Mr. Maust’s parents, Mr. and iMrs. Douglas Maust, west of Goshen and the Neal Slabauigh family.

Locke church Intermediate class taught by Mrs. Ray Zercher, met at the Charles Weaver home, Nappanee Tuesday evening with James Weaver. Mr. and Mrs. John Muntz spent New Years day with her sister, Mrs. Pearl Hauch at South Bend. Mr. , and Mns.Bill Muntz and daughter, Nappanee, were guests Monday of the John Muntzs. BREAKS ANKLE SKATING Leßoy Chupp broke the large and small bone in his right ankle Dec. 29 while skating with a group of young people. He came home Monday after five days in Elkhart hospital. Ambassadors class' of Locke church meets Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Helmuth. Locke Sewing Circle met all day Wednesday with Mrs. Jesse Hochstetler. Guests at supper Monday were Gerald Weaver family, Mrs. Ray Mast, Elkhart. Mr. and Mrs. Hartman Snyder and two daughters of Walla Walla, Wash., enroute home from Christmas Vacation in Ohio, stopped here to visit Mr. Snyder’s aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Irven Stahly, Dec. 28. Mr. and Mrs. Stahly Weldy were at a New Years eve party at the Glenn Holdeman home, south west of Wlakarusa. Carol Weldy spent New Years eve night with Donna Kay Wagner at the Donald Wagner home, Nappanee. Grace Hostettler of Kalamazoo, spent Sunday night with Neal Slabaugh family. Mrs. Dora Bickel, Elkhart, spent New Years day and Monday with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Stahly and John. Levi Chupp family entertained his brother and sisters at a New Years dinner Jan. 2.
