WIN OR LOSE CLUB MET WEDNESDAY WITH MRS. LUCILLE PETERS The Win or Lose club met Wednesday, Kept. 13th at the home of Mrs. Lucille Peters, at Lapaz. One guest was present, Mrs. Clarence Miller. Prizes were won by Mirs. Harry Gdllis, high, Mrs. Don Beezley, second and Berdena Hoffer, consolation. The next meeting will be with Berdena Hoffer, on Sept. 37th, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mildred Hoffer.

ATTENDANCE AT FIRST MEETING SHOWS INTEREST IN PARENT-TEACHERS ASS’N ')■ - Many attended the first P. T. A. meeting for the school year held last Wednesday evening, Sept. 13. The program began with group singing led by Lewis Hafbegger, Mrs. IHabegger at the piano. The Secretary’s report was read by Mrs. Gerald Stahiy. Jack Templeton gave the Treasurer’s report. A report on the budget was given by Phillip Quigely. Loud applause was heard when Mirs. Vernon Sharkey, president of the P. T. A. announced the project for the year was to black top the school playground. The Banner went to Miss Elva Schrock’s room for having the largest number of parents present at the meeting. Walter Ulery, program chairman announced the rest of the program for the evening. A solo was sung by Carol Postma, accompanied by Miss 'Dorothy Ritter. Barbara Coppes played a piano solo. Several violin selections were played by Mrs. Paul Schmiedel, wife of Rev. Paul Schmiedel pastor of the Lutheran church in Nappanee. Supt. William Kendall gave an introductory background of the new teachers and also introduced the other teachers who have taught before in the school. Rev. Don Jennings, pastor of the Methodist church, played two selections on the accordian. James Weddle, high school principal, spoke on the school program.
