COMMUNITY CENTER ■Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Willard McCuen called on Wilbur Chivington, a patient at the Elkhart General hospital. Mrs. Virgil Anglin and daughter Donnabelle and Miss Rosa Mae Sheets enjoyed picnicing on the 4th at Yellow Creek Lake south of Burkett, Ind. The Home Economics club, which has been recently organized, met with Mrs. Bessie Anglin on Thursday afternoon of last week with eighteen members present. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Clarence Flory. Rev. S. W. Konkel arrived at his Indiana home on Wednesday of last week, after a three weeks vacation in Kansas where he attended a family reunion and the General Eldership. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Harlan of Cincinnati, Ohio, spent the week end with relatives in this community. Miss Jeanette Wood was a guest at the C. G. Harlan home, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller and family spent Wednesday evening at the Henry Myers home. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Myers, were supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Sechrist and Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Mliler, Tuesday. Mrs. Wlibur Chivington spent last week in Elkhart to be near her husband at the Elkhart General hospital. Mr. Chivington was brought home Sunday. The Mt. Tabor Mission Circle met with Mrs. David Beach at Gravelton for their July meeting, with a good attendance. Mrs. Alma Parks was in charge. The August meeting will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Wood with Mrs. Marjorie George as leader. Mrs. Donald Johnston has been visiting with relatives and friends in Denver, Colo, during the last three weeks. Sunday dinner guests at the Wayne L. Wood home were Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Ganshom and family, Mr. and Mrs. Loman Doty and June, Mrs. Etta Doty, Mrs. Cora Harlan and Miss Mae Doty. C. G. Klink near Silver Lake, Sunday afternoon. A number from the Mt. Tabor church have been attending meetings at the camp at McClure Lake during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Yeager and family, spent the evening of the 4th in Elkhart with near relatives. Sunday dinner and suppeh guests at the Hudson McCuen home were Noah Johnston of Mottville, Mich., Donald Johnston, Sarah Johnston and Ida Gizer, all of Nappanee, Lucille and Patsy Deisch and Mr. and Mrs. Alva Johnston and grandson, Junior Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Wyman, Bobby, Lou Ann and Kenneth, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Grover Wyman at Constantine, Michigan. Late Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Hudson McCuen, Mrs. Sarah Johnston, Mrs. Ida Gizer and Donald Johnston, motored to Mentone to the Carl Blackburn home to see Mrs. Ray Fuller, who is seriously ill. Mr. and Mrs. Vivin Disher of Syracuse, visited with relatives in this community. A miscellaneous shower was held Thursday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Burkholder at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hall. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received. The hostess served ice cream and cake. The official board of the Mount Tabor church held a very important meeting Monday evening, as the improvements on the bethel means extra responsibilities. The work is progressing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Perkins and children of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Hershel George and son Larry and Mr. and 'Mrs. Elbert Ganshom and family, enjoyed a picnic dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Cain, Sunday. Sunday dinner guests at the Lester Rowland home were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ganshorn and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Argyl Rowland and daughter and Mr. | and Mrs. Homer Ganshorn. Homer, Worth and Earl Gans- ; horn and Jean Douglas helped Harman Ganshom put up hay Saturday and Monday. Mr. and Mrs. James Heckaman called on Mr. and Mrs. Herman George Sunday. A fine boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sponseller at the McDonald hospital about two weeks ago. The son will answer to the name of Richard Allen. Dale Hawley, formerly of this community, broke his leg recently. His neighbors are assisting him with his farm work.
