Ringgenberg, near Leesburg, is well kftewn here on account of her frequent visits to her father's home as well as those of her brothers, Lawrence and Theodore * Emmons. Jl ' AGED SOLDIER BROTHER OF NAPPANEE VETERAN The Western Spirit, Paoli, lad,, recently contained an Interesting story and cut of Tom Hunt, an 85-year-old veteran of the ciVil war, who is a brother of A. C. -Hunt of Nappanee. Mr. Hunt has had a career made up of the experiences and mettle that go to make the typical American soldier and citizen. Born in Ohio, Sept. 21 >( JB4O, he came to Indiana with his parents in his youth. Here he grew up and on the 15th of June, 1861, he enlisted in Cos. K, 30th Indiana cavalry to serve through the Civil war and be discharged in Indianapolis, Nov.* 15, 1865. When Mr. Hunt was paying his 50th yearly subscription to the Western Spirip, he was asked, "What do you. belong to?” "To the three biggest things in the world,” replied’Mr. Hunt. "The United States of America, the Grand Army of the Republic, and the Methodist church.” When rural delivery service was established many years ago, Mr. Hunt became one of the active carriers. He accepted retirement when it came and now, with enough savings to insure ail of the necessities and some of the luxuries of life, he surveys the world in good cheer and contentment, with ten living sons and daughters to respect him. DEATH OF AMOS LAMBERT Amos Lambert, 31, died at 4:30 o’ clock, Monday afternoon, Augqst 16, at the home of his mother, Mrs. Dwight Wiliams, in Nappanee, of tuberculosis. He is survived by his wife, a son, a step-daughter, his mother, three brothers, and five sisters. Funeral services were held from the William’s home, Thursday morning, Aug. 19, conducted by the Rev.
