BIBLE CONFERENCE AND GAMP MEETING The Bible conference and camp mooting of the Brethren churches of Indiana, conducted at Shlpahewana Luke retreat, to a close with the services Sunday evening. For two weeks there were meetings thrice daily, with the exception of Saturdays and Mondays, when- only one service was held. Preachers from the different churches of the district helped make the meeting interesting and inspiring. Many people attended by running in and out for the different services, while some lived on the. grounds in tlie cottage*, that have been built fob the purpose. At the beginning of the meetings a cottage for girls and women was dedicated. This cottage contains twenty sleeping rooms, a large dining hall and kitchen and a chapel on the main floor that will accommodate quite a hum died girls. The girls’ and women's societies of the church are furnishing the looms .pt- this cottage. By next year it will be fully finished and we expect to see it Ailed throughout the Bible conference. ' The pastor of tlie Nappanee church; iieV; fc. L. Miller, had dliarfeo of the music during the meeting just closed, and he also brought several messages, to tlie conference, one of-them'being -an. illustrated-discourse on the Holy City. The Nappanee Sunday school hand also went over in a body last JThjtei: even, ipg,, and.,.delivered a con- , cert that was ajipreciated very ißuch. This retreat of the Brethren on the south shore of Shipshewana lake is fast building up and within a very short time there will be plenty preparation for the holding of district conferences on our own grounds. On. Tuesday of the secoiH week of the Bible conference the Brethren gave way to the Methodist folk, who came in from all .over Lagrange county for their county picnic. They were tlier'e in gpodly numbers, and with their district , superintendent, they put on a very interesting program. \Ye look for a larger body of people to be on the grounds during the conference next jrear, for many have already said they will be there and others are building cottages so that they can spend part of the summer in this quiet spot'. The Nappanee folks have helped nicely in putting things across at Ship&hewafia and they will be on hand to enjoy the good things that will be served'up there. * *"■■ ~ Q— ■■ ■— ■ GRAVELTON FIRST BRETHREN CHURCH Sabbath services for Sunday, Aug, 12: Sunday school at 10 a. m. Let each s'cholar be present next Sunday and bring some one who is not in-Sunday -school. Ninety-one new Sunday, school pupils in six Sundays is' tlie record attaingd by a Tittle girl called Song Chin Soo —this did not happen in America, but in Korea. Other children in the same city brought 71. GO. 54 and 53, pupils respectively. These results were seeftred by uking Bible lesson picture cards. Each new pupil is given such a card and the worker receives a card when he brings in ten. Are w ; e in America taking as much interest in _the Master’s work as-the workers in the foreign fields?
