Melcher bom in 1844 and the widow of Charles D. Melcher, died at her-home in Elkhart as the result of paralysis. —At Elkhart the home of the Rev. Mr. Beeks was robbed while he and his wife were absent at prayer-meet-ing. The thief obtained but SI.OO. —The disbarment proceedings against Joseph E-. Talbot, of St. Joseph county, is booked for the February term in the Elkhart superior court. —Mrs. Louis Eshenbftugh, of Shiremanstown, Pa., died at the age of 57 years, Dec. Ist. She was a sister-in-law of our' townsman. John Eshenbaugh. j ... —Daniel Pontius, aged 78 years and a pioneer resident of Elkhart county, died at his home in Baugo township, .four miles west of Elkhart Saturday morning.
