AiroTrrttre only remedy for a strike is time. In Muncie the labor uqions are strong, and that is equivalent to saying that frenzied and tenacious men last starvation brings them to a realization that men in all walks of life aredepended upon one another. •' r In Waukesha, Wis., the ministerial association has been active in closing the saloons and some other kinds of business on Sunday. The saloon men and their sympathizers are going to close the churches on Sunday, so they have announced. The saloon men are retaliation on legal problems and they .think that they are already carrying th,e ministerial jobs in their vest pockets. The liquor business is the only business, perhaps, that sets up a howl when it is compelled to obey the laws or the land. , Seven Years of Proof. “I have had seven years of proof * that. The common run of humanity (and that is the most of us) ought to bear in mind Dr. Hobson’s admonition used recently iD one of his sermons. That is, that people should pray for their needs and not for their wants. There is a vast difference between the amount of any particular thing a man needs and the amount of the same thing which he may want. Humanity in general, and Greed, Grab & Go. in particular, would be much happief if wants ended with needs. In stating that R. P. McLaughlin, the applicant for a- liquor license from Nappanee has taken an appeal to the supreme court, the News-Times has the following comment: - -Judge.. Dodge, allowed Deahl '& Deabl, the attorneys for the rernonstrators to properly sign the remonstrance, to which the applicant made no objections, aDd the remonstrance became good, although the court held that it was not good until the-signa-tures* were endorsed by the person, who as attorney for the signers had signed the paper. This decision would make the remonstrance before the county commissioners not good, but after the remonstrance was properly signed in court it became good. Supposing this to b£ fjFue, and the applicant obtains a reversal of the lower court. What then? The other side of the business will then confront the applicant. For instance, there was and Is now a remonstrance on file, signed as the court required the last one to be signed. The filing of anew remonstrance did not invalidate the former. The applicant, when he gets a supreme court decision (if he gets the decision) will have the first remonstrance to climb over also, is the general belief. How is Your Digestion. Mrs. Mary Dowling of No. 228 Bth Ave., San Francisco, recommends a, remedy for stomach trouble. She saysr “Gratitude for the wonderful effect of Electric Bitters in a case of acute indigestion,'prompts this testimonial. I am fully convinced that for stomach and liver troubles Electric Bitters is the best remedy on the market today,” This great tonic and alterative medicine invigorates the system, purifies the blood and is especially helpful in all forms of female weakness. 50c. at J. The merchants and business men of ought to profit by the* lesson In advertising during the past .tj.W4Ji.or three weeks. With the same concerted efforts on the part of business men the mercantile trade of Nappanee could be increased 50 percent inside of one year. The facts are, too many of the business men depend on three or four prominent advertisers for their annual profits. If it was not for these men who give the town some prominence, the business of the non-advertlscr would fall off from-25 to 50 percent. For this very reason every kind of business should contribute to the general rund of information which broadens the trade territory tributary to Nappanee. Unclaimed Letters. The matter recently came to the attention of the postoffice department.
