Praise from Prominent Men for tU Train fll i lawlppi Kx position. Gov. Culleisoii oi Texas Leaded a 'arge party of citizens ot th LottS Star state to Omaha and. in speaking of the exposition OS blfl return, said: "It is simply wonderful and stands a splendid second to the great world's fair. I am delighted, simply delighted, and very proud of the part Texa.- has taken in the great Trans-Mississippi show." Ex-Gov. F. R. Lubbock of Texs described Omaha "as a most beautiful, busy city. wih wide, elegantly paved streets, broad and fiue sidewalks, lovely parks, magnificent public buildings, handsome and costly residences." Of the exposition he said: "It is elaborate and most elegant in all its proportions, giving great satisfaction to the immense multitude in attendance. This undertaking represents a wonderful amount of pluck and enterprise on the part of the people of Nebraska, which it would delight me to see Texas emulate."' General Manager Tocum of the St. Louis and San Francisco railroad, after inspecting the grounds and buildings at the exposition, said: "It is grand. It is superior to the expositions formerly held. The buildings are beautiful and they are so nicely arranged. The buildings, however, are but a small part of the exposit ion. The exhibits are the things that tell the tale Of the wealth of the country. They are magnifitent. and the showing that is being made ought to convince the people who come here that the TransMississipp region is the bone and sinew of tnis great renublic." Admiral George Brown. U. S. N. (retired of Indianapolis, after spmdlng a day on the ground, was enthusiastic in his praise of the exposition, judging it from a persona", comparison with others held in the last twenty-five years. He said: "In Its perfection of detail and general effect it was unsurpassed even by the world's fair, and as for other recent expositions, they weren't a picayune side show. The government exhibit is more complete and satisfactory than any which have gone before. Those in charge seem to have profited by their previous experiments in what is interesting and profitable for public inspection." Gov. C. M. Barnes of Oklahoma said: "The exposition is grand beyond all conception and will go down into history as the greatest exhibition of the resources of the great west that has ever been seen. The industrial and agricultural exhibits are as fine as the world has ever seen, and they are diversified. There is apparently just enough of everything and not too much of anything. I knew all along that it was a great show, but 1 never had any clear conception of its mag nitude until 1 Btepped inside the gate and gazed over the grand court, which is magnificent beyond description It is a picture for an artist It is more beautiful than the world's fair." Senator William B. Allison of Iowa, after his first day on the grounds, said: "The exposition exceeds my fondest expectations, and Is magnihce.it be

yond description; there are no words that can do justice to the grand court and beautiful buildings that have been constructed. The whole country, an l especially the west, ought to be proud of this great exposition, which has been xc lied only by the world's fair. In some respects I consider the exposition better than the World's fair. The buildings arc not so large, but the architectural design is as good, if not better, while the arrangement upon tb grounds is better in every particular. Here the buildings ait grouped, making it easy to pass from one to the other, and in addition to that tli(plan of building around the lagoon must prove satisfactory to all who visit here. The magnitude of the exposition is a pleasant surprise, instead of the Trans-Mississippi exposition being a show, it is a great school win re the masses may be educated and come in contact with people from other sections of this as well as other countries."
