In proof of his assertion he asked the re porter it be ever knew of a client making any money by going to law? Of course we answer d in the negative. "Yes," said President McKinley to an impatient applicant for a country post Oltice the other day. "there are about öl 1 1 cases just as tu g nt as yours on my desk, to which I have as yet given no attention, and they are accumulating daily. The man who feeia be cannot wait lor a poatoffiee appointment at a time like this doesu't deserve the place and will not receive it." Spain is as friendless in Europe as a country can be. shecan lind no help in any quarter. If she undertakes to wage war on this country aba will not be praia ed by any sovereign to save her iron, die aster. Ail reports to the Contrary are canards manufactured ot whole cloth to frighten the Washington government out of standing by the rights which no other civilized nation on the face of the earth would ever dream of compromising or abating. The person or persons who bate spent a third of a century in one locality do not feel the best when it comes to saying good bye. Hence the tears that wete bhed yesterday at the Pitts burg depot by those who left Marshall county to seek and establish a home in the far west are excusable. Asa rule "Uooaiera are known for their svm pathetic make up and the man or wo man that sheds a tear in parting with friends is made of the right material. There are about 303 dogs in Plymouth. The assessor Will start out on his rounds on Eriday, and as many people believe lha day to be an unlucky one, what will the dogs "think" about it? The owner of every cur in the township ol Center must pay the dog tax under pain
and penalty of having his favorite canine killed on the BpOt, The assessor is not allowed to enter into any compromise. It is pay op or the dog dies. This question is a serious one (or the dogs i to consider, Some people aaj that, the law is an unjust one and don't give the the d g much of a chance for his life. Some dogs will be sent to tht country for their health. Domestic Joy. The charm of domestic joy will be preserved, it' those parents, who fear the early death of one of their lovei ones when attacked with a serious throat or lunr trouble, resort at once to Dr. RiiU's Cough Syrup, -i never-failing remedy. "I used Dr. Bullv8 Cough Syrup lor my sou, who was eight years old. He baa been troubled with a bronchial cough Bince he was two and a half years of age, and 1 have tried everything, but found Dr, Bull's Cough Syrup does him the most good."' Mrs. A. Geib. 317 Demott St., West Hoboken, N.J. Dr. Bull's Cough Syrup costs only 20 cents, ami is cheaper than the dealer's big profit making substitute because Dr. Bull's Cough Syrup alwaya cures while ihe Substitut docs not.
