At Palos Springs, three miles north of Orland and twenty miles from Chicago, a Wabash passenger train was wrecked and five men were hurt. Among the Victims is Senator Humphrey. The "cannon ball" train ran into the rear of a BUburban train and overturned several passenger coachos. John W. Paekwood, a switchman for 'he Erie road, was killed in the yards by a switching engine. WHITE CAPPERS ARRESTED, Prominent Men of Drnmark County, Iowa, in Trouble. The white caps of Denmark township, Iowa, were Identified by their victim. "Abe" Balm, as Frank Forner, Joe" Sanders. "Tlce" Enslow. W. If. and John Shuntz and William Vansile. These men went to Balm's house to tar and feather him for alleged cruelty to his father. Balm resisted and was shot. It was reported erroneously that Balm had died from his wounds. He Is still alive, and may recover.
