and stated t the council that there was a certain business portion of the city wl:ich had been commonly called the Midway, whic'i was gaining a very unsavory leptdatiou and that that leimtation was ivt conhned to our city alone, but was becoming notorious in adjoining town, and suggested t hat something should be done to abate the nuisance said to be there, and lind out whether our police department was md sullicient to cope with the trouble or whether they v.eie t blame for the matter existing as it docs. Ahleunan Maxey moved that wh n the council adjourned it adjourn to meet next Monday night to continue the work of revising of ordinances and that the police of the city be requested to be present far investigation of the Mill way trouble. Carried. Council then ajourned.
