Hibbard Items. Jas. L.. Mosher and wife Sundayed with relatives in riymouth. Mr. Quangle, of Kinzie, Ind, visited Monday afternoon with relatives here. Mrs. J. II. "Watson was visiting Mr. "Watson's parents of Argos, over Sunday. Miss Lizzie Listenberger was the guest of Mertie Lowry Sunday. JIattie Wise and Ilallie "Wilson visited a few hours with Mrs. Fostel Groves Sunday afternoon. Miss Eliza McGowen, of riymouth is spending a few weeks with her parents. Mr. William Stuck is up and around again after a lingering illness of rheumatism during the past winter months. Chas. Estes the Vandalia section forman has employed two of his old hands Edward Stuck and Howard More. Isaac "Weirman has repainted his residence, it looks well from its lofty position on the hill side of Iiis farms so the improvement goes on. The Vandalia depot has undergone a thorough cleaning up. A new block signal has been added thereto. Mr. Peter Listenberger has disposed of one of his prize ring billy goats to a party near Argos. The champion goat still remains in the ring. II. S. Clifton is on the road with a full line of homeopathic medicine, also carries in connection, life policies, will insure yon against death and high taxes. Mr. William Horror, of South Bend, was visiting his little daughter Pearl at her grandparents. Mr. Forest King and wife, of St. Joe, Mich, were visiting Mrs. King's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Listenberger. We see our old time friend George Ditto circulating among his numerous relatives and friends at Hibbard. Geo. has a lucrative position in a paper mill at South lend. The Hibbard twirlers or the "young frog line"' as the Uurr Oak correspondent termed them are out in their new uniforms, they played a game with the Fickaways on the lieal Estate base ball park Sunday afternoon and scooped them in a few innings. Hibbard is undergoing a thorough course of renovation from the foot to the head of IJombejar street. 15 ut come of the denizens of our burg have not got their residences tidied up to the standard of a queen's parlor, but after we get over being crowded with our hauling they w ill lightly touch up the corners and will try and get them as near in the Queen Ann style as possible. Scripture says, "Cleanliness is next to Godiiness." The new brick yard located on G. W. More's farm are opening up one of the finest brick yards in northern Ind., they come well recommended as highly professional brick makers and have the latest appliances and are getting prepared to make the best brick on the market and will be in line running order soon.
