His chief delight in dealing I with great men secm3 to be to lay bare their faults, and prove them to have failings and sins like other men. Like a bird of prey, he has a keen scent for carrion, and discovers it when others would see only beauty and life in a widespreading landscape. - They have a sharp set i of fellows m Kansas City' We heani a'göoiWtory of a' trick played by one of the residents of that city a short time since. A , lean, lank, sallow-faced individual rode a mule into Kansas City and wanted to sell hiiii. A genious, standing by, offered to sell him for five dolars. Theoff-a wa3 taken, and the mule, disposed of: the auction eer warranted a sood title. The purchaser had scarcely got his mule home when a Shawnee Indian came into the city in search- of a mule that had been stolen from him. The auctioneer was on hand again, and ' offered to show, the Shawnee where the mule was if he would plank down a .V. The Indian paid, and the man, went to the purchaser and told him ;how the case stood, at the same time offering to run the mule across the river for ten. dollars. The -bargain was struck, and the auctioneer mounted the mule, and that is the last that has been seen of the auctioneer or mule. - ESTRAY NOTICE. MOnSK,tliMnvcntorof MORSE'S INDIAN ROOT TILLS, has spent the preater part f his 1UJ in traveling, having visited Uuropc. A tin. anl Africa, as well as North America has spent ! three years among the Indian of our Western country it was in this way that tlc Indian Roo) Pills were first discovered Dr. More was the first man to establish the fact that all diseases arist from IMPURITY OF THE BLOOD -that ourstrentk licalth and life depend upon tins vital fliild." When the various passages Income clogged, and do not net in perfect harmony with the different functions of the body, the blood loses its action, becomes thick, corrupted and diseased; thus causing all paiius, sickness and distress of every name; our strength is exliausted.our health wc are deprived of, ami if nature is not assisted in throwing off the stagnant humors, the blood will become choked and cense to act, ami thus our light of life will be forever blown out. How important then that we should keep the various passages of the body fre e and open. And how pleasant to us that we" have it in our power to put a medicine in you rtach, tit: Morse's Indian Root Pills, manufactured from plants and roots grow aronnd the mountainous cliCia in Nature's garden, for the health and recovery o diseased man. One of the roots from which these Pills are made is a Sudorific which opens the pores of the skin, and assists Nature in throwing out the finer parts of the corruption within. The second is a plant which is an Expectorant, that opens and unclogs the passaged the lungs, and thus in a soothing manner, performs its duty hy throwing off phlegm and other humors from the lungs by copious spitting. The third is a Diuretic, width git et ease and double strength to the kidneys; thus ncourajied, they draw latge amounts of impurity from the blood, which is then thrown out bountifully by the urinary or water passage, and which, could not have been discharged in any other way. Tlie fourth is a Cathartic, and accompanies tile other properties of the pills while engiged in purify ir.g the blood; tlie coarser partic es of impurity which cannot p:v by the other outlets, are thua taken up and conveyed ofTin great quantities br the bowels. ' From the above It is shown that Dr. if or sc's Indian Root Pills not only enter tlie stomach but become united with the blood, lor they find way to every part, an 1 completely rout out and cleanse the system from all impurity, and the life of the body, which is the blood becomes norfcctl v lialthv : consequently all sickness and pain is driven from the system, for they cannot remain when the bod? becomes so pure and clear, Tlie reason why peo ple are so distressed when sick, and whr so rnanr die, is because they do not get a medicine that will pass to tlie alliicted pats, and irhich will open the natural passages for the disease to be cast ou;; hence, a large quantity of food and other matter ia lodged, and the stomach and intestines arelitcra'Ir overflowing with the corrupted mass; thus undergoing disagreeable fermentation, constantly railing with the blood, which throws, the corrupted matter through every vein and artery, until life it taken p-om the body by disease. , Dr. Morse's Pills have added to themselves victory pon victory, by restoring millions of ihcsickto blomJng health aaa. happiness. Yes, thousands who have been racked or tormented with sickness, pain and anguish, and whose feeble frames have been scorched bv the burning elements of raging fever, and who bav been brought, as it were, w iihin a step of the tiltct grave, now stand ready to testify that they weald have been numbered with the dead, had it not teen for this rreat and wonderful medicine.
