The telegraphic Squadron are engaged in laying the Cable. In common with the whole world, we earnestly hope that the attempt will be successfuljbut we are compelled to confes3 that our advice3 are not encouraging. We fear this second experiment will prove a failure. The letter of our Special Correspondence, on board of the Niagara, "which we publii h thie morning, gives a condensed, .bat very clear, and reliable repoi-t of the. result : of the experiment al exped i-tio:i.- - which referenoe3,have already been made in the English mi l J paper4. .It wa3 there stated, as alsoln tlie report of tlio 'engineer, that these experiments were intirely satisfactory though the London Times recorded the fact that tUo caT)le parted once or twice, thöugli 'this accident occurred only to the old cable and in a rough sea.' From our Corresxndent'4 letter, however it will be S3en w that the cable parted no h than ßüß times during the trip of three days that this calamity occurred Loth the old and new cable, alikeand tliat it was pot fairly chargeable either to the weather 'ox ;tlie sea, or to any.-special ac cident whatever. We have private advice V also, 1 of 1 a discouraging tenor, though lrom persons olheiallv Vonhecd vitli the enterprise..

One of tnese letters, written on board the Niagara, says: You will see. if you eret an accurate report of the experimental trip, that a more favorable opportunity could not occur for practice and experiments in laying the cable. The weather was calm and the sea was smooth, there was no swell the ship wa perfectly still, yet, I must confess, it was not so successful as I had hoped and expected. Disguise the fact as we

The Democrats in the several townships are requested to meet in Township convention, on the Mth day of July, next, to elect delegates to the County Convention. This step is highly necessary, and is most earnestly tirqeA upon the Deraocrals of cverV township, and it is hoped i ,ai lu ,"3"'r wm ueBw,r .u' iicuiuriy iutb Aemocnii. w 111 now pcriuii any others to meet and appoint for thera, whilo they slay at home. The time hon ored usage of tho party in holding Delegate conventions, has been followed by harmony and success, while Mass meetings and the action of self constituted delegates, hate generally resulted in confusion and discord; therfore it is hoped that each', ownship will select delegates who will attend the County Convention. It has been thought, that an apportionment of delegates based on the last Congressional vote, would be as equal as it can be made and that ratio has baen adopted. This will give each township dlegates as follows North 5; German 7; Bourbon C; Tippecansa 4; Green 7; Union '8; West 5; Polk 5; Centre 23. Let every Democrat consider it his duty to attend the township meeting, and see that delegates are selected icho tc'dl attend. Gravel and Stone. By this we understand a collection of sand-like substance having been lodged in the passage of the urine. When the system id in a healthy state, thi3 substance h carried off by the natural passag of tho

body; but when there is a weakness of any organ, especially the kidneys, urc hra, or bladder, causing great inflammation to tli03C organ.?, and great pains and swelling, and great difficulty in'voiding urine. It has been admitted by many physicians, that Morse's Indtun Koot Pills are made out of some particular plants which have a wonderful charming influence in disolvmg the substance which has clogged the passage, and by their cooling properties, they expel all inflammation, and leave the water passag in a free and actve state.
