JtSThere is a veritable liitle city a few miles west of us, on the C, P. & C. R. R., called Tyner City; and, among other .things, it can boast of two, among the best business men of our county. Messrs. Bissell Sc Cushman have been in business there some time, with a steadily increas ing trade; so much so that they have found it neces&iry to enlarge. They are now in receipt, from eastern cities, of a heavy Spring and Summer stock: consisting of a general assortment of Dry Goods, Groceries, Hardware, Boots & Shoes, fec. We are not afraid to predict, that any, who may find it convenient to trade wiih Messrs. Bissell ife Cushman, will find their terms as reasonable as any other house in. the county. Farmers, give them a call with your produce. - - jZSTThe Black Republicans are Tory jubilant because they came in for a few ot the spoils of the Corporation election held Monday last. But no thanks to thei party strength for the victory; rather that th Democrats did not turn out, and work, that cold, rainy day. They suffered the concern, in a measure, to go by default. We will have to prick them up a little, next time. Well, well; it was reallv amusing to see the Black Republicans on that Jay, especially some of the candidate, Grinding in the rain on tho bv-wavs and corners of the street, soliciting votes. Some men luve a remarkable taste for small things. S3TQ would call the attention of the pub'ic to the advertisement in to-day's paper, of the "LaPorte Collegiate and Commercial Institute." This institution has just opened foi the reception of Students. Shall not old Marshall send a delegation? We sall have occasion to notice this Inetitution more at length, at a future day. Ouing to sickness in our family, we wfif ,ut abl to attend, but learn that there was quite a large delegation of Minisiers present, and that the exercises were very interesting. . - JS3TTh weather! oh. oh, ooh!
