The Rifle WAit.Men, money, and Sharpe's rifles is tho constant cry of the chief organ of the Republican party the N Tork Tribune. The editor has been a sort of peace individual until of late; he now thinks it important to fight himself, for nobody ever had a fairer chance to pitch in than he had a few weeks ago, but he restrained himself. He however calls upon
others to go to Kansas, and take Sharpe's lifles along, and do killing service in the cause of freedomas he stvfcs it. lie has been superintending the votes in Congress flattering and scolding and coaxing. THE FEE BILL OF THE MARSHALL CO. MEDICAL SOCIETY. Adopted December 5 th, 1855. Mr. Editor: As this Society has adopted a uniform svstem of charge?, and believe it a duty to the public and themselves to acquaint the citizens of Marshall County with the Fee Bill; and least an erroneous opinion should be entertained, we would
state that the charges arc about the same as they have been in this locality for the last three rears, and about the same a3the LaPorte Fee Bill, adopted June 2Ctli, 1SÜ2, when evervtVnsr was rrrv cheap in comparison to the present prices. bers of the democratic party, in view of the coming Presidential election and deeply impressed with the baneful effects of the base misrepresentations of the New York Tribune, a journal which boasts of its democratic subscribers by tens of thousands, suggested to the publisher the idea of presenting the democratic party with a paper equal to the Tiibune in reports of market?, news, &c, of-
I fered at the same price, and pee if the people wculd not support it. The circulation of the Weekly Day Book ha- quadrupled within a year, which is j saying more than any other periodical can do in this codutry. The base misrepresentations of fanatical journals are reacting upon themselves, and it only needs a little determined e ffort among ail who love democratic principles, and who value the constitutional obligations of our Union, to place Day Cook in a position second to no paper in the United States. Sh ill i: be done? Shall our liberties, our Union, our cherished American institutions be preserved, or thall we hand them over to the care of a miserable set of fanatics, who now assume one garb and then another, to deceive the people. The publisher appeals to all lovers of their coun try, to all truly conservative men, and above all, j to every democrat for support, not for his intests solelv, but lor theirs, for the entire country. The price at which the Day Book is put scarcely exceeds the costs of the paper before it is printed so that a very large circulation is absolutely necessary to render the business profitable. The publisher trusts you will give the paper a perusal, show it to your neighbors, and if possible, send the names of several subscribers. Respectfully yours, N. R.'STIMSON Publisher, VJ Ann st., N. Y. TERMS. The Weekly Day Book is sent to single subscribers to all parts of the United States for $2 per annum in advance.
