Wawaka News by Mrs. Thomas Stigner * Six members of the W. S. C. S. attended a meeting at South Milford on Thursday. The Harold Reichard family attended the funeral of his mother, at Kendallville, Saturday.
Miss Lucy Earnhart of Kimmell, was the week end guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Myers. Mrs. George Kellner spent several days in Mishawaka last week, the guest of her daughters and families. ! "Mr. and Mrs. George Lindsey of Laporte, and Mrs. Madge Tschabold were calling on friends here, Friday.
Mrs. Madeline Damon was hostess for the Gaiety Club last week. ;
Mrs. Olin Lower had the misfortune of having her arm broken on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Magnuson of Garrett, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Boyd and daughter of Gary, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roe and family of So. Bend, spent Sunday with Mrs. Elmer Magnuson. The members of the Kimmell and Wawaka Methodist churches held a get-together at the school auditorium on Thursday night. A carry-in supper was served and a short talk given by Dr. Shake. At the close, Olin Lower showed the picture “Summer Storms,” which was greatly enjoyed and appreciated by those present. Mrs. Belva Kellner entertained W. S. C. S. at her home on Wednesday. :
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Knepper and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Knepper were at Battle Creek on Sunday, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Knepper. Mrs. Mary D.eWitt entertained the Yardley Club at her home last week. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Imel of New Paris, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wooten and daughters were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight -Hooten. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Poyser of near Albion, are parents of a son born Saturday. Mrs. Poyser was formerly Thelma Musselman of Wawaka.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller of Attica, Ohio spent Wednesday in the Ray Miller home. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Freda Taylor, Sunday at the Moore Funeral Home. Mrs. Taylor, a former resident here, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, in the hospital at Tampa, Florida. : Mrs. Helen Johnston underwent a minor operation in Memorial Hospital, Kendallville, Friday.
