Members receiving the beginners American Red Cross certificates. were, Sandra Stoner, Nancy Kuhn, Alice Lebold, Julia Likes, Kay Green, Bonnie Musselman, - Mary = Ann Rippey and Marie Lockwood. Not scouts, but participating to round out the class and receiving certificates were, Lauretta Wilson, Nancy Virgil, Marilyn Hostettler and Sharon Gardner. First year pins were awarded members at a regular meeting recently conducted by leaders, Mrs. Donald Reed and Mrs. Corlyss LeCount. A collection of $26.50 was taken here over the week end by the Troop for the Society of Crippled Children.

A very interesting program to which the public is invited will be presented here at 7 o’clock Sunday evening, April 16 in the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church, according to the Rev. R. A. Worthman, pastor of the church. Alex Ababio, of Pogo Land, Gold Goast, Africa, studying in this country to become a medical doctor, will be a special speaker, Mr. Ababio, who plans to go back to his people to practice his profession, will speak during the program of his homeland. : 4

~ Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rink entertained at a family dinner in ‘their country home north of here Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rink and son David, Mrs. Dale Schrock and daughter Connie Jean of Goshen Miss Ruby Clark of New Paris, Jacob Rockenbaugh, and Junior and John Rink. The latter, who is a student at Purdue University, is spending the spring vacation here with his parents. '

Mrs. Veda Chiddister was hostess to ten members of the Variety club at a recent meeting. Prizes at pinochle were won by Mrs. Robert Bowlby and Mrs. Wilbur Musselman. The May meeting of the group will be held in the home of Mrs. Gabe Lamber of Goshen. - -

The Misses Lavornia Roderick, Alice Marshall and Barbara Gresho of South Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Roderick and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cramer of Goshen, and Harry Thomas of here were Sunday dinner guests of Milo Roderick and daughter, Laura.

Mrs. Grace Seeley of Fostoria, Ohio, is spending some time here with her daughter, Mrs. Harry Reed and family before going to Illinois where she will visit with other members of her family. Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Likes of St. Joe, Ind. were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Reed and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ball evening visitors. '
