MILLERSBURG ECHOES

Nineteen members of the Women’s Guild of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church were present at the recent November meeting held in the church. At the business meeting, Mrs. Richard Rink, vice-president, read the resignation of president Mra. Herbert, who was unable to complete her year’s term. Mrs. Rink was then elected to succeed her. Fifteen members were reported to have attended the regional Guild meeting held last week Imn South Bend. Miss Ella Mae Hooley, guest speaker, gaveran interesting account of her European travels the past summer months. Slides and souvenirs of the various countries were discussed entertainingly by Miss Hooley. Two Christmas-time projects supplying food, clothing, etc., to those in need are being sponsored by the Guild. The “Pieces for Peace” will aid people of foreign countries and the “Biloxi Mission,” the people of Beloxi, Miss.

The Millersburg Mothers of Boy Scout Troop 8 organized here Thursday evening following a carry-in dinner in the social rooms of the St. Peter’'s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Percy Troyer was elected chairman. A troop court of honor was held at which two new members, Calvin Rockenbaugh and John Leedy, were invested as Tenderfoot scouts. The other advancements were, Second Class, Don Troyer and Edward Faust of the Fox patrol; Bobby McGill of the Wolf patrol. First class, Howard Leedy of the Fox patrol and Stephen Rippey of the Senior crew, Star Scout, Carlyle Chiddister of the Senior crew.

There celjemony was attended by approximately forty parents and guests. Also in attendance were Robert MecConnell, mneighborhood commissioner for this area and C. Ralph Hudson, field executive from the Elkhart office of the Pioneer Trails Council. The
