NEW MOTOR VEHICLE ? INFORMATION RELEASED . ‘For the information of 'all local motor vehicle owners and operators, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles of Indiana have released the following, effective Jan. 1, 1950. Beginning Jan. 1., 1950, all persons owning automotive equipment such as cars, trucks, etc. and who are required to purchase license plates for same, must obtain sucn plates from the State License Branch operating within the county where such person resides and maintains as his or her legal residence. :

The above new ruling will apply to the local branch here in regards to residents of Topeka, Millersburg, Syracuse and Benton who formerly obtained . their license plates from the Ligonier Branch. These owners will now have to obtain fheir license plates from the branch in the county in

This ruling will ‘'be rigidly upheld beginning Jan. 1, 1950, as all Branches have been ordered to inspect each applicant’s tax receipt so ' that no vehicle will carry plates from this county when the owner does not legally reside here.

If no tax receipt is shown at the time of application, the Branches are required to refuse the issue of plates until such receipt is shown, :
