The Progress Club met Monday evening in the home of Mrs. F. A. Churchill with fourteen memnbers present, Mrs. Elmo Weaver was in charge of the program and she presented an account kept by the late Albert Weaver of a trip to England in 1892.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Haines and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Thompson entertained thirty-five guests with a dinner party at the Publix, Kendallville, last Friday evening. Following the dinner, bridge was played at which prize winners were Mrs. Gladya Starr, Mrs. Elmo Weaver, Mrs. George Green, Mrs. Leland Calbeck,, Mrs. Roy Jorg, Otis Nusbaum, Dr. James B. Schutt and Leland Calbeck.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Owens oi LaPorte, Ind. were week end guests of Mr, and Mrs. William Furkis.

Mrs. Fred-Bickel entertained 11 members and one guest of the Merry Janes Yarley Club last Wednesday evening at her home. Yarley was played and prizes awarded. Delicious refreshments were served. The club will meet next Wednesday evening with Mrs. Ben Moore.

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Barch had open house on the Hebrew New Year, Saturday, Sept. 24, for the members of the Ligonier Temple and out-of-town guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Smith returned to their home in Greenfield, Mass. Monday, after spendlast week here visiting their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Hire, Jr. -

Mrs. Charles Kunz, Decatur, 111. arrived Tuesday for a visit in the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs, Robert Kidd.

Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Koon arrived home last Thursday after an extended visit in Fort Collins, Colorado. =

Girl Scout Troop 5 under the leadership of Mrs. Adrian Biddle, held a weiner roast at Woodlawn Park last Monday evening. Mrs. Walter Robinson, Jr. was an invited guest. :

Girl Scout Brownie Troop 8 met in the troop room at the high school last Thursday afternoon for election of officers, The new officers are Judy Seniff, president, Betty Jane Rex, vice-president, Dee Ann Cook, treasurer, Dawn Wiley, secretary. _ Jeanne Freeman served the treat. Games werc played following the election. The troop is under the leadership of Mrs. D. H. Freeman and Mrs. Charles Winebrenner. /

Brownie Troop 7 held the first meeting of the season in the troop house Monday afternoon followed by a picnic supper. Twenty-two girls attended and were under the leadership of Mrs. Russell Orewiler and Mrs. Lloyd Harper.
