MILLERSBURG ECHOES
The: Women’s Guild of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church met _at the church recently for their August. meeting with sixteen present. Following a business session conducted by the president, Mrs. Herbert Stroup, Mrs. Richard Rink, who attended the summer conference at Tiffin, Ohio, ‘gave an interesting report. The topic of discussion based on “Missionarieg is China” was given by program chairman Miss Wilma Rogers, assisted by Mrs. Herbert Stroup, Mrs., Ted Worthman, Mrs. Shirly Rink, Mrs. James ‘Gangwer, Mrs, Leonard Green, Mrs. Richard Rink and Miss Ethel Rogers. The meeting was closed with a prayer.
Thirty members of the Reformed Church Booster Class attended the. August meeting and enjoyed a picnic dinner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hinkle of Warsaw. During the business meeting, plans were discussed for sending food and clothing abroad. The September meeting will be held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Groff. Miss Ella Mae Hooley will give a travel talk on her European trip during the past summer months, :
Principal Lester D. Ravis has announced here that school opening will be at 8:30 a.m., Friday, September 2 for registration and general instruction, School will be dismissed by noon, making it unnecessary for pupils who live in rural areas tosbring their iunch.
Little Miss Phyllis Jean Long, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Long, was given an anniversary dinner in the home of her parents Wednesday evening, celebrating her seventh birthday. Guests were served at the dining table which was attractively centered with a beautifully decorated cake illuminated with the traditional birthday ecandles. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Homer Long, Bert Lantz, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Long and daughter Elaine, and Mrs. Louella Beck.
Ted worthman, local electrician and radio repairman, thas completed a two weeks course in television installation and servicing in South Bend, sponsored by the Philco Corporation. :
Mrs. Eva Yoder and Mrs. Edna Juday attended the Bible conference Sunday being held at Winona Lake. During the day, Mrs. Yoder renewed her dfriendship with a former college classmate, Mrs. Gladys Baumgardner of Bluffton, Ohio. ; ; Ly

Arbaugh, who went to rPuerbo Rico twenty years ago as ‘a missionary, gave an interesting resume of his work during that period, as guest speaker in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Sunday morning.
