Topeka News by Polly Greenawalt CARLSON — BLAKE ; Miss Delorma Carlson, only daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Carlson, jand Junior Blake, son of Mr. and \\Mrs. Harley Blake, were united in marriage on Saturday afternocon, August 30, by the Rev. Stewart Bain of Goshen. Following a short wedding trip, they will be at home in the Carlson Apartments. The bride is employed in the Wirk Garment factory and Mr. Blake by the Wabash Railroad.
The Mesdames Maurice and Dwight Yoder united at a prenuptial shower on last Friday evening at the home of the latter, honoring Miss Deborah Searle, a fall bride-elect. It was a red and‘ white kitchen shower. Those at-, tending were Mrs. Stanley Greenawalt and Mrs. Max Myers of LaGrange, Mrs. James Ulmer, Mrs. ‘Wayne Thompson, Mrs. Irwin ‘Thompson and daughter Janette, ‘Mrs. Robert' Thompson, Mrs. Esther Searle, Mrs. Dale Mcllntyre, Beverly and Barbara Horn, Deloris Hayden, Harriet Neufer, Mrs. Herbert Leming, Mrs. Earl Grimm, Mrs. Don <Crouse, Mrs. Gerald Holden, Mrs, Peter Fast and Mrs. Charles Anders. ‘A buffet luncheon was served.
The Misses Phyllis Kauffman and Marlene Smith will entertain at a shower honoring Miss Searle at the Smith home on August b. Guesis will be the girls of the 1949 class, of which Miss Searle was a member. : ;
The Misses Phyllis, Charlotte, and Maxine Kauffman went to Medina, Ohio, on Friday evening and on Saturday, attended the wedding of Phoehe Hollopeter and Mervin Yoder, the latter a cousin of the Kauffman’s. They spent the week end there, returning on Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Greenawalt and daughter, Maxine, left Saturday morning for Bradenton, Florida. They went for relief for sinus trouble for Maxine. Mr. Greenawalt will return here. before returning to Florida for the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan E. Yoder and daughters, Mary, Lucille and Ida left for a Michigan trip on Friday. They plan to go as far as the Straits. ‘
Miss Trella Greenawalt, who has been at the Sam Lantz home the past several years, moved Friday in the residence with ~Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Lantz, where she plans to make her home. Mr. Lantz, who sold his property, will make his home at the R. F. Miller residence and at his cottage at Dallas Lake. -
