MILLERSBURG ECHOES
Members of the Women’s Guild of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed church heard an interesting review of the book “No Trumpet Before Him” as given by program chairman, Mrs. Richard Rink at the June meeting held in the church parlors. A brief business session preceding the program was conducted by class president Mrs. Herbert Stroup.
A lake outing including a pot luck dinner and swimming was held at the June meeting by members of the Reformed church Crusader class and their families at Stone Lake recently.
Miss Estelle Weigel and the Rev. and Mrs. R. A. Thompson, Goshen, will leave July 4 on a camping to the Irish Hills and a short visit to Traverse City, Mich. Guests returning home from a visit here with Miss Weigel were a cousin, Mrs. Anna Willard of Warsaw, and Gordon and Bert McNeilly of Williamston, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. Lou Groff, Mrs. Jeanette Cripe and Delacy Kuhn are home from a sight-seeing motor trip in northern Michigan, including visits to the locks, Straits of Mackinac, Sault St. Marie and parts of Canada.
At a surprise party in her home Friday evening honoring her husband’s birthday anniversary, Mrs. Fred Phillips entertained Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Bickel, Jr.,, Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Troyer and daughter Rose Ann, Mr, and Mrs. Percy Troyer and son Don Allen. Refreshments were- served and the evening spent socially. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller attended the wedding of Miss Marietta Smoker and Lester Hooley in the First Brethren Church Friday evening in New Paris.
Mrs. Cora Green and grandson Jimmy Hile of Warsaw are spending some time with the former’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Groff.

Holly and Jay Warren were accompanied to their home in Houghton, Mich., this week by their -grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. A. H. Miller, after spending some time here in the Miller home.
Hugh Showalter, Bill Rohrer, Robert Prough, Harold Showalter, Bud Rink and Jim Groff were among those from ‘here attending the auto races at the Fort Wayne speedway, Sunday.
Mrs. Annt Silliman of Terre Haute, and grandson John of Texas were recent guests of the former’s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rippey and family.
Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Todd and daughter Susan of Hamilton, 0., who are frequent visitors ‘here in the home of Mrs. Todd’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Howser, moved to Indianapolis Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Luther Juday entertained Mrs. - Juday’s father and sister, Henry and Sarah Bohn of Goshen, Sunday in their home here. : ‘
Mr. and Mrs. Verall Gerten and children of Plymouth, and Dr. and Mrs. E. A. Carpenter of Goshen were visitors the past week of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Method. Mr. Gerten who was hospitalized many months and later confined to his home, the result of injuries suffered in a train collision two years ago has recevored sufficiently to return to his work this month.
Mrs. Hazel Kline was hostess to thirteen members of the Excelsior class of the St. Peter’s Lutheran church and one visitor, Mrs. Charles Smoker, Thursday evening in the Benton community hall. Mrs. A.
